its really low right now about 500 or so and when i kick in the a/c, it feels like its going to die. but just at idle.

Ah, I see. I would take it in for warranty repair, if you're still under warranty. It may be a bigger problem than just the idling. Off the top of my head, it could be a hose that is loose, it could be a dirty MAF, it could be bad o2 sensor.

I don't know if there is a way to manually adjust idling on the benz. Never done it or needed to do it before, so can't really help on that front.

You can't without Star Diagnose, and even then, you are limited to a fairly small range.

The ECU should automatically compensate for the additional load on the engine from the A/C compressor having been engaged. The minimum air setting on the throttle body is adjusted and sealed (from casual tampering) by the factory. The volume of air through the idle air control orifice ultimately controls its idle speed.

It’s possible that your IAC servo is lethargic or its passages are fouled with blowby particulates, thereby preventing appropriate correction. Mine will settle on an idle speed ~25 RPM higher when the compressor is activated. It will also adjust accordingly in response to stationary power steering inputs and alternator loads, for example. As Drex mentioned, it could very well be a faulty MAF or oxygen sensor(s).

On a positive note, the solution to your situation will soon be effected by your SA and his or her technician, at no additional expense to you.
