HELP !!!!! W203 c230 03 is acting weird upon cold startup
If the transmision had a fault to create the problem you describe, it would set a code in the trans control unit for torque converter lock up solenoid, and a po700 code in the ME control unit.
The hose everyone is talking about, pop's off and causes a high pitched whistle at cold start, car will also lack power. A plugged cat will also cause the hose to get pushed off.
Unplugged vac lines on the supercharged motor's do not cause the same sort of symptoms as the other cars.
Have you been able to check all the codes ??
Someone mentioned that it might be the MAF so I will investigate that first.
Here is what my car does:
when at 0 mph, the car vibrates noticably.. and when accelerating it is extremely slow (loss of power). I didn't notice however, any problems with the tranny. Tranny seems to be working good.
Good luck!!
I think driving with MAF unplugged does not do any damage, however, your CEL will come on... Either way I would take it out and clean it... and plug the connector back in... if the problem still exists, then you might need to get a new MAF.
Good luck!
I just hope it's not the cat!! I will take it to the independent shop tomorrow and have it checked...
I really love this car, but if it's going to keep messing up like this, I will have to part with it.. I've only had it for about 3 months, and haven't really got a chance to enjoy it... I'm really disappointed at this moment!

could you tell me where did you buy the carbon fiber looking cylinder ( tube ) for air injection in the picture you provided, i have the stock one that is not solid...thank you
I have fixed the irregular RPM problem by removing the throttle body and cleaning out the gum residue that built up about the butterfly valve. there is also a vac hose that goes to the MAF and attaches in line to the throttle body on the radiator side that was a loose fit. I put a new clamp on it and when I started up, the idle hunting was Gone!. Remove the filter top and the black induction pipe which includes the O2 sensor, making sure it is shiny, use carby clean to get rid of the gum build up in the throttle body.
