Angry HELP !!!!! W203 c230 03 is acting weird upon cold startup

Hello,
I am very concerned lately about my car behavior. My car is 2003 c230 coupe w/70K on it now. I am having two problems and hope anyone out there that can give a tip or any help in regard:

The first problem is hapening when I first start my car in the morning, and going to drive mode. Until the car warm up, everytime I come to a stop, the car start shaking and the RPM goes down to almost 0. Sometimes it stalls and sometimes it recovers. It's so annoying ............

The second problem is with the transmission, when I slow down, the c230 with an auto tranny downshift automatically for you to help you stopping your car, in may case it goes let's say to second gear and if I decided to hit the gas pedal again, it jumps to third gear and it starts shaking same way as if I am driving a manual car and removed my foot off the clutch quickly.

Sounds like you might have a small vacuum leak...check your hoses!

But doesn't a vacuum leak cause a check engine light to come up?
I don't have a check engine light on.

Sounds like it's about to come up.. have some revving the engine while you're listening (even with a straw) to pinpoint where it's coming from...that or a smoke machine line.

When I overboosted, it was the hose directly behind the driver side bix.. it's a small L bend... I heard the whining from inside the cabin. On other cars it's a hose directly UNDERNEATH the airbox...which will take you hours to get to if you've never done work in the M271 engine before.

Pay attention to the 'bold' circles..

My car engine is a 1.8l Kompressor and the hose you're pointing to goes on the right side of the airbox and not behind it.

I have checked it and it looks shiny and OK.

Someone else mentioned that I could be running low on transmission fluid.
Any idea

It's a hose that connects to the top of the plastic parts of the intake manifold and intake side of the head. Can't describe it... also can't get a good picture of it since it's under all kinds of stuff. All this is speculation though - I've got a 1.8L too... but you might have another problem. I still haven't flushed tranny fluid, but that's coming up next. Good luck.

OK I have been able to remove it, and didn't see any issue with it.

So the problem must be somewhere else.

Sounds like something caused by a hose leak or exhaust leak.

I had an exhaust leak with my headers, so had to go back to stock. As soon as I did that, had no more problems like this.

Have you done any mods or is your car completely stock? Are you still under warranty?

OK, here's the what happened last week.

I took it to the dealer to check it up, after two days of diags, they came up with two options,

1- It could be caused by the Transmission valve

2- You should need a new transmission.

The first option of course sound like more convicing as it doesn't look at all as a tranny problem. So I asked them to change the valve and off they did.
Well nothing changed. So now I am wondeing if they even know what the hel there doing.

I still think that it could be something like a speed sensor related issue or anything else minor.

Apreciate any help.

They couldn't figure it out either. One thing they said that on these model, it can't be anything related to the vacuum system because it's driven electronically. Not sure anymore who to beleive.

So I start playing around with the pipes from the pics above and I got a check engine light now on.
Is there a way to reset the check engine light?

Help!!!!!!!

You can always rent an OBD II Scanner from Autozone and take off the code and see if it stays gone. The OBD II scanner will at least mention what it is sensing the problem is and that may help diagnosis. If you're getting a CEL, there's got to be an error code in the system and that's what is good about the OBD II scanner.

OK.
Just came back from the store and the CEL went away. I moight have caused it to come up.

But the issue remain. Still at cold, when coming to a stop, the car shakes and almost seems falling apart until the temperature gauge goes above 60.

Sure sounds like the hose under the intake manifold that seems to just start to crumble after a while. When it happenned to me, the CEL would go on/off intermittently.

Do you hear a loud sucking kind of noise when you turn the car off, that didn't used to be there (try shutting off the car with the hood and door open so you can hear). I noticed this noise, which od course went away when I had it fixed.
