Hey guy, annoying problems here!

i stff many times, but i didn't get no help with this topic:

my car's MPG goes down, whether at idleing or drive, it just goes and goes down, at about .1 every 5 seconds. i would start the car and leave it on for about 4 minutes, come out and see my MPG go from 27.8 to 16.5, and i'm like what the efff? any one know how i can fix it??

oh, and i got some projectors, but the beam pattern is REALLY messed up. anyone care to tell me how to adjust it?

You can fix it by taking a basic Math course.

When your car is idling, it is burning fuel (measured in gallons in your american case) yet it is not moving any Miles. Therefore it is essentially getting 0 mpg. Now because your cars trip display averages out your mpg over the period of time the motor has been on, that 0mpg getting factored into the equation every few seconds will drastically bring down your mpg. Common sense.

In answer to your second question about your projectors, get some expensive decent quality projectors, and any bleeding and allignment issues should resolve themselves. $200 projector headlights are not good quality.

NEXT!

Happens to all of us....don't forget the car uses the most gas when first starting(especially when cold).

it's common sense, i know, but when the car goes from 27.4 mpg to 16.8 in the 4 minutes that the car is idleing after start, i don't think it's right. when i first had the car, it never dropped in mpg constantly at a rate of almost .1 every few seconds, it actually stayed above 24mpg. can someone actually help me with this problem? is there a chance that it might be my battery dying, because i'm pretty sure it's gonna die soon.

and for your information, the projectors were 300 , haha

You have two displays for mpg. One resets automatically on 4 hrs intervals if the car hadn't been driven or left idling and the other one has to be manually reset. Which one where you looking at?
You have got to be more specific to get a better answer.

Well, just for you, i left my car idling to see what would happen, and lo and behold, i was right. It's normal, calm down. Try driving around a bit and watch the number miraculously get better!

Too many to list
One thing for sure I never rely on what the display tells me. I average my own miles per gallon thru the miles I traveled and how many gallons I used up. But I do rely on it telling me how many gallons I have left in the tank. Common sense should tell you the older the car gets, the more gas it eats.

i understand that, but i thought that since i have less than 59k miles on the car, it would be better than most.
