Raunen, did the problem you had ever get resolved?

Ever since I tried installing the front Brabus swaybar (and I'll finally have it in this weekend, with Mike's (mbbodytech) help) the auto-leveling seemed to have gotten messed up. I took it into the dealership, but they wouldn't fix the level of the beam due to my having "lowered" the car, so I paid them to fix it...But, the other night, when I was driving, I noticed that the passenger side beam was aimed lower than the driver's side beam. So I guess they didn't fix it accurately because any left-side drive car has to have the drive-side beam lower than the passenger side.

Reason, I bring this up is I'm also going to check out any "gaps" in the beam (as you posted above), so I want to see if they were able to fix that for you.

Let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Drex

The dealer couldn't help. The service rep. drove the car at night, and confirmed the dark projection. After 3 days in service, they gave up and told me it was a reflection from the mirror, the light beams are within DOT specifications, and there was nothing for them to do. They also said they looked at the light beams from other BiX in the shop and all had the same pattern as those in the pictures (I didn't quite buy it hence my request for help from the forum---although no one posted a picture yet ).

All I've managed to do was to aim the beams as far to the left/up as possible as that was least annoying (although still noticeable). I used these aiming instructions as a start:
http://www.midstatedmc.com/tech/aim.htm

this was somewhat helpful because it had visual illustrations:

Let me know how it works out for you.

p.s. be careful not to strip the screws! also the tab that covers the upper screw can easily come off and fall where you can't get it back! i already lost two and had to get them replaced.

I'm pissed off right now! I just looked at my BI-X and it seems that they must have tampered with the BI-X r/l aiming funtion because there isn't even a cover on them anymore. I didn't notice until today.

I'm gonna bring my car in to my Service Advisor to have him question them on this. They were supposed to help me fix the aiming, now my headlights don't seem just right anymore.

So was it supposed to be combined or 2 separate? I have the same issue. Just got the car back from the dealer today and the headlight aim was all screwed up.

my pattern is like this:

xxxx____
___/

the left and right beams individually are the same as well

the lower part of the right beam is aligned with the upper part of the left beam.

hope this helps.

it's two seperate pattern like raunen described. I raised the left side up to match the right instead of keeping the left aimed lower.

Thanks Frank and raunen. The dealer installed the sensor backwards when they replaced my bushings. All is well now.
