I got there at 9:30 AM today and did the deal. It didn't sting too bad, got the sales manager to split the difference on his deal yesterday and my offer this morning. So I drove out with it for $39K. Coming home I was like a kid in a candy story with the throttle. It's wild, it's a kitten when you go easy but when you dig in acts "angry". it jumps out and really builds velocity with a vengeance. I really like the stiffer suspension too. And the sounds are beautiful! I didn't know but the HK surround system is stock so with the Xenons, sunroof, heated seats it was like trading the NAV for the HK (and the motor/suspension). Here's a few early (crappy) pics ...

Nice car, great deal, now that the dollar is on par wish I could find such a deal for such a low mi car. Here in Toronto that would go for well over $50K+
Question, with all that power we should set up a pool for when you will get your first speeding ticket. I would say by the end of the week!

You do have to watch it around here about tickets. They are like vultures in the weeds. I caught myself up around 95 on the way home and didn't realize it. But I got 21mpg on the 20 mile ride back from the dealer. Usually got 25mpg in the 3.5L so that's not too bad. I swapped on the flush hood ornament and the K&Ns as soon as I pulled in.

When are you going to de-badge the car?
Pretty ironic, people de-badge the junior models but when you have the real thing you leave them on.

Congratulations on the car. I guess we'll be seeing you more in the C55 subforum now?
Good to hear you can feel that the suspension of the C55 is stiffer than your previous C350 Sport. I can tell you that the C55 handles VERY well, and that is the biggest surprise about the car.....we all know it can accelerate quickly, but it can also keep up with stock E46 M3's on a twisty track. Enjoy your new car.
I still remember when I upgraded from a C240........there is absolutely no comparison in every aspect.

Yeah, the suspension is a big change. Let me ask you'all this, now that I see the car in the sun it sometimes looks almost metallic blue/purple. What color is that? I thought it was just plain black like my C280?

Hmmm, diamond black? It should say on your paperwork.

I'm not missing my NAV as much. I was detailing it in the garage and noticed it also has split folding rear seats. So it has a lot of options I didn't have on the old C-Class like the fold-down rear, Harman & Kardon surround, and seat heaters. It does have some serious road rash on one wheel but a lot of the protective plastic hadn't even been peeled off from the factory so it's feeling very new!
