eh????
well youd have some severe loss in power and you wouldnt hear it whine, and most likely the engine management light would be lit up on the dash. heh.
but yah, that was a pretty bad question, we need symptoms

Quite simply, you'll know if it isn't working.
Our 1.8L/ 2.3L engine that is not feed by some sort of induction system propelling a car that is 3400lb will be extremely sluggesh to say the least, and even more so than a normally aspirated engine of the same size due to the compression ratio differences. You will not be able to keep up with traffic if it is not working
Unless your belt broke or you took off the air filter and it inhaled a stone or bolt, the reliability of a SC is almost bullet-proof with a extrememly low incidence of failure. Turbo's on the other hand are not as rugged and the failure rate on them is much higher, this is due to the high temperatures, the extreme importance of oil and failure to observe the proper cool down procedures after running long and aggressively

i dont know i'm new to cars and it just seems that mine is making some type of clicking noise or something when it's in drive just sitting there and also when im accelerating. Maybe it's supposed to be there, but it doesnt sound like it should?

Got ears?
check the belts, and pullies.
Figure where it's coming from.
You're asking for help, but providing no info.
Normally people here would shred a newbie with a question as vague as yours.
Maybe people are in a good mood as it's Sat.

You need to isolate where its coming from.

If C230 helps you out, you seriously owe him a 6-pack or something.

Okay, you are 16, I'll bite. I'm going to look at this as a teaching opportunity. Take a empty paper towel tube. have someone throttle the engine, and use that tube against your ear to hear for your sound. Once you figure out where it is coming form come back and tell us.
Next, tell us how many miles, what year is your car, any recent maintenance done?

alright thank you very much.
The car is a 2002 C230 Kompressor Coupe with 61K miles on it
the check engine light turned on about 3-4 days ago but i believe it was serviced when my parents bought it for me back in july.
i know this picture sucks but it sounds like it's whatever the noise is, is coming from around this belt?

So you have noise coming from the belts? Does the noise happen in all gears, or only on Wide Open Throttle?
First thing I would do is insure that your tensioner bearing is tight. It is a 15 mm socket, and has a plastic pulley around it.
Any chance for you to do what I asked, then you can really dial in.

I downgraded to a VW, it's still German though
I thought about putting one on just for the fun of something to watch go back and forth, and because us pilot types can never have enough gauges. I just don't know where I would it in the cockpit. Maybe build a little mount in the space below the radio. I'll see if I can get an STC for it. You know those FAA inspectors these days....
