I disagree with his treatment of the machine, but then again, that's his business.
Not that its really needed, but you'd be surprised how quickly the C230K hits the Vmax. I gave a riced out Civic that was tailgaiting me the wide eyed view of my tail the other day...went from 70-132 in no time. I hadn't realized I was going that fast till I got the "falling forward" sensation. I slowed back down, let the cruise grab it at 67mph, and about 20 seconds later the Civic came 'buzzing' by me like he had 'won' the race.

1 DIN (German) hp equals 0.986 SAE (US) hp
194.7 DIN hp equals 192 SAE hp for the C230k 2.3.

To the second part: You can never drive 150 ALL the time, but there are plenty of times that you can. Buy 'Mischief 3000' and see a car go 203mph on public roads...and see one get pulled over doing 187 in a 65.

Take it to a track somewhere.
Your gonna kill somebody on a public road.
Your irresponsible actions is the reason cars are limited.

therefore top speed is 153mph at 6krpm. It is very hard to judge exact rpm vs speed in higher gears as a small difference in rpm is a large difference in speed.

Top Speed
Tire diameter = 24.8 inches (Michelin Pilot Sport 225/45ZR17)
Differental ratio = 3.27:1
Sixth gear ratio = 0.84:1
Final drive ratio = 2.7468 (Diff ratio x sixth gear ratio)
Redline RPM = 6000
Using these parameters, I calculated the top speed by hand and with two on-line calculators. The calculated top speed to 161 mph. The Euro observed top speed is therefore limited by aerodynamic drag.
Results from one on-line calculator:
Vehicle MPH Calculator by Bowling and Grippo
Input Parameters Are the Following:
Differential Gear = 3.27 to 1
Transmission Gear = 0.84 to 1
Tire Diameter (Inches) = 24.80
Engine RPM = 6000
Computation Results:
Computed Vehicle MPH is 161
Differental ratio = 3.27:1
Sixth gear ratio = 0.84:1
Final drive ratio = 2.7468 (Diff ratio x sixth gear ratio)
Redline RPM = 6000

Ok. Now do you think the car can pull to redline in 6th gear? That is a pretty tall order considering the overdrive ratio and the weight of the car etc...

you claim that you went to the track, however in your post you claim to have topped out going downhill. last i checked there are not to many drag strips with hills! also i know you were not at a track because our cars cannot get to that speed in 1320 feet. and i doubt you did it on a auto-x track because this would have to be a huge track for you to get to that speed and sustain it.

OK
Everyone else here drives at no more than 55 MPH on public roads and has a laurel-wreathed picture of Ralph Nader hanging from their rear-view mirror, right

We do need to think out there though...
Salt Flats would be fun eh?
