Pics....my car is a little dirty here, but oh well....
Making a run down the central Cali coast thru Big Sur to Cambria catchin' the tail end of the Indian Summer.

The road less travelled.....

Zebra's grazing along highway 1 on Hearst Ranch just south of Hearst Castle, decendants from his private zoo.

Ouch! I scratched it trying to get melted plastic from a car cover off...

A buddy of mine owns a motel in Cambria...this is the view from the parking lot.

Car looks great as always. How is the power? Did the cat change anything.

Bit throaty, but suits you well. Great job.

Actually, I kinda wonder if there isn't something wrong with it...was thinking about putting the stock muffler back on...
I'm having issues with misfires ever since the old cat failed.
It seemed to be fixed after the old cat was replaced, but getting it again at high rpms...working on that one. Maybe just a plug or coil pack....

Octoberfest
OK, this might be a little off topic, but I don't want to post in the OT forum since I only know you bunch of jokers.
This is whats called a "Luge"...a couple small groves are cut into a large slab of ice. One person stand at the top and pours shots down, which are caught by people at the bottom....and yes, thats me pouring and one catching a shot of Goldschlagger...I got a ride home and rode by bike back the next day, BTW. That stuff in the bottle on the left was the nastiest stuff I've ever tasted, some kind of pure alchohol distillate from Bulgaria or something, but people drank it!

Hot luge babes!

Great pictures, C230 Sport Coup.

That section of Highway 1, in a nice car such as yours, makes things seem right with the world.

What’s going on with those misfires? Get that BS straightened out quickly, before you kill another cat.

Kinda liking the hot luge babes. I’m on my first…err second, but there are no hotties like that helping me!

You mean the Zebra? She's kinda giving you the eye

I just replaced the coil pack, but with a used one that I replaced before it failed....looks like maybe problem solved. I was able to rev out to 6K and not misfire. Price has gone up a little on those babies, but still like 33 bucks at Duval (+ $7 slow boat shipping)
Damn coil packs!!! POS way to run a car.
160K+ miles on a FIAT I never replaced the ignition coil.
This one had been replaced at 55K miles by the dealer, and oddly enough it failed on the very same return trip from Cambria a few years ago.

I'm also wondering about the SC belt, might be slipping, I'm running
a Goodyear Gatorback belt, and I've heard they're not good can slip.
It seems Gates has gone the way of Gatorback as well, no longer making a straight 6 rib belt, they've gone with the crossribs for "controlled slippage" yuk.

No one seems to sell Contitech belts in the US, and another brand mentioned in the W211 forum, Roulands also not available stateside.
Need the 56" 6 rib, or 6PK1420 as it's known over there.

Whats the best brand of belt to run? Or where can I get the Contitech in the US?

, but still LMAO!

It’s a sad commentary on modern German electronics when you long for Magneti-Marelli pieces.

The McParts Razorback serpentine belt works fine on my GMC. Alas, it doesn’t have a supercharger. What’s up with that “controlled slippage” drivel? Belt moves, pulley turns. I have used Continental belts on all my German cars dating back to the VW days. Carried a spare onboard too, but never needed it. The previous W124, and our current W203 used Continental’s. Replaced them solely as a preventative measure, because they wear like iron.

I’ll call an OG parts guy, Randy Steele, in Goleta http://www.autopartsguru.com to see if he can source one for you.

Dude, you need to get out of San Jose and hit the highway!
Head to Monterey, and keep going South on 1.
If you haven't been before, you will thank me.

70 miles later past Monterey, and about 3000 turns, you'll wind up in a little town called Cambria...or keep going a little further you'll be in San Luis Obispo.
I've driven down and back in the same day, but I recommend getting a room in Cambria or San Simeon. Off season it's damn cheap, 50 bucks and up.
Big Sur is cool, but everything costs 2x times as much. Rooms start at expensive and go to very very stupid expensive (Post Ranch, Ventana)
Nepenthe is the coolest...be sure to stop for a cold one.

If you don't mind being up late, take your lady (or not) and head to Esalen Institute and hit the hot tubs built into a cliff overlooking the ocean for 10 bucks...the catch is you have to go at 1am. They kick you out at 4am, by which time your legs are rubber, and your skin looks like a plucked chicken...but it's worth it. Be sure to call ahead...

Overall it's only about 250-300 miles RT.

Don't forget to stop at the Hearst Castle...

for a swim....he he....
