Hi,

I was just checking with you new 2003 owners. I wanted to check if you had the following issues with your new cars.

-off centered steering - alot of 02' owners had to check on alignments and such.

-clumping of the sunshades when opening and closing the roof. - also reported problems of them popping off their tracks.

-excessive rattles - primary in the roof and rear seat/trunk areas.

Also if you have had any other real ongoing problems that have have required numerous service calls, I appreciate you bringing them up.

I'm still waiting for the "urban legend" of the OEM xenons to show up on the 03''s for the coupe. Haven't seen one in the bay area yet.

i've actually been wondering this as well. they say that it takes a year for a car company to work out all (most of) the kinks in a new car. i hope this is true. we'll see.

Off centered wheel - Yes...being fixed next week

excessive rattles - None....nothing but the engine and the music.

BTW I have the car 1 week and 750 miles.

No rattles, no squeeks, no problems-period, almost 4000miles. And 192HP and 208ft-lbs of torque...that's why I grabbed one of the 2002's

The Bi-Xenon's would have been nice...perhaps us 'lowly' 02 owners can get them in a group buy :p

Any of you guys hit other forums? First year 'teething' problems are very common in many cars. Many of them are fixed long before the model year ends.

2002 Coupe with 7800 miles a "NO" problems. Bought 9/11/01. Must be the Magma color.

none of the majors (align, esp etc..) but the rear deck rattles like a snake. I had to put in some padding in between the deck and the rear hatch to stop it - will deal with it next time it goes in to stealer.

Also, if I turn off all systems (audio, air) and listen carefully, it seems that there is a small squeek coming from the top of driver door or in the roof area. Really slight and you must strain to hear, but it is one of those - hear it once, and it's always there deals!

I think it may be that the lovely detailers used that crap - armor all to make it nice and neat looking. Armor All=Evil incarnate.

2000 miles and no squeaks, rattles or other problems. The check engine light came on early but was reset with no problem. The 2003 C230 is great.

no urban legend. they will show. check out the MB website they are acutally posted there now under the lighting package, granted the pic is a sedan. im not the only coupe that has them ordered. if you order they will come.
