depends on what you want. i got a very unorthodox sub in my trunk.... kills the space by at least 50% but is one of those powered sub woofer box units, and it pounds hard enough for you to choke if you try to drink something when the right frequency hits. i've seena lot of guys do some nice, flush, OEM looking stuff. do you just wanna throw a box in the back or have a car audio shop do it and make it look almost OEM?

maybe i should be asking:

how much you looking to spend?

then we can tell you your options.

well shoot- you arent going to have many options for that price. wiring kit will be about $25, RCA signal converter $15..... then from there, you need an amp, speaker- and box. for that price, you're not going to get a lot of bass, if ultra high quality and loud bass is your thing. for that price yuo can probably land a powered subwoofer system, typically named a "bass tube". it'll definately add to the stock stereo's quality, but if you want "real bass" you're going to have to kick it up a notch. i spent $800 or right around there, but i got a jammin setup, fully installed. shoot, my head unit cost me a total of $500+ dollars.

If you are looking for a good amount of bass I would go with a single high power 12 in a vented enclosure. Something like a Alpine Type-R, Pioneer Premier TSW2000SPL, or maybe an IDMax 12V2D4. There are others also, I would focus on a high powered long throw 12 that performs well in a vented enclosure. If you get something that takes in the neighborhood of 500-750 watts rms, and a quality amp to push it, you are looking at between $800-1000. Less if you buy it discount online.

Depends on which pioneers you are talking about, and what kind of music you listen to....
