Ipod Integration

I have the dealer installed the ipod integration and got the car back yesterday. (06 C230SS)

The ipod turn on when I plug it in, and it is still on when I unplug the key.
So I assume it will turn off automatically. But when I go back to my car after
an hour, it is still on.

So do I need to unplug the ipod everytime in order it to turn off by itself?
Because I'm afraid it will harm the ipod if it is on for a long time,
let's say it is on overnight.

I have factory COMAND and the OEM I-pod integration. The name of the song appears in the MFD (little screen in the speedo cluster).. I just leave mine in the glove box, never really thought about if it turns off or not?

Definitely worth the money, nice to have.

I used to worry about that too since it gets slightly hot, but it's been in the glove box for 3 months and no issues.

The operation of it is goofy. For the $450 they charge and it should show up on the command screen, and you shouldn't have to memorize the goofy steering wheel buttons in order to control it. It's not exactly user friendly.

I agree it should show up on the COMAND but I have no problems operating it using the steering wheel buttons......
