Visit Esp Workshop
The Visit ESP WORKSHOP came up on the instrument panel and I checked with the OBD II scanner.
The code came up as p0221 1of 1
tps /pedal position sensor/switch b ckt range/perf
This may be the brake pedal light switch above the brake pedal, however I don't know.
Can anyone tell me what this code is, and does it match up with the OBD II scanner code?
I have a 2003 C320 with 108,000 miles.
Thanks

That's actually a fault in the throttle control circuit. Either the throttle position sensor (TPS) has a fault, or the gas pedal itself is failing. Or there's a problem with the wiring harness itself. Check the electrical connections at the throttle body and gas pedal for corrosion/contamination (remove and re-seat at least). If that does not resolve it, the scan tool the dealers use should pinpoint the faulty assembly. I'd put money on it being the TPS, personally.

C230 Kompressor Sport Coupe
i get the ESP/BAS brake light from time to time, i simply click out of it, and it clears itself upon next restart, and it seems to come in clusters.....i'll have it happen daily for a week, then two months without ahitch. and my cruise control will kick off suddenly out of nowhere when its acting up. but its rare enough to just ignore.

ESP errors can only be read with the StarDiag.
Whatever your OBD reader is seeing it's not ESP errors.
I've had my car in for ESP errors so many time....
and still I get ESP errors, and it says the system is offline..
but then I feel it working even though I have an error.
Then after a couple of restarts it goes away.
One of these days, I'll get my local guy to read it and tell me which sensor is acting up.
I'm not paying 1000 to fix it. F' it.

ESP not available
The control panel says "ESP not AVAILABLE"
other than that the car drives fine without any noticeable problems.
Where exactly is the throttle body sensor at?
