Oil Change Interval
I took my car for an oil change at a local SpeeDee Oil shop. I brought my own oil filter that I bought from a local MB dealership and they used Mobil1 0w40 synthetic oil. The sticker that they put on my windshields says that my next oil change will be after 5000 miles. I thought this synthetic oil will last 13000 miles per MB maintenance manual. What's your thought on this?

Uh-oh. Did you get the required fleece (polyester) filter from the dealer? Did the guy know how to put it on? Was the Mobil 1 conforming to Mercedes sheet 229.5? Did they suck the oil out from the top? If they drained it from the bottom, did they replace the sealing ring with the correct part? Did they use a torque wrench to install the filter holder, the drain bolt, and the lower shield bolts? Did they put the proper quantity of oil in the crankcase, and did they reset the service interval indicator?
These are the reasons I do it myself on my driveway.
Properly installed, the oil and filter are good for 1 year or 13,000 miles. The oil center would like to see you more often, so they shorten the mileage to old fashioned conventional oil schedules.

Yes, i bought the oil filter kit from a MB dealership and have them use that instead. I brought my car to speedee coz they're the only shop that carries Mobil 1 synthetic oil (0w40). They drained my car from the bottom and have them replaced the seal ring. I check the oil level myself before leaving the shop and reset the service interval counter myself after.

Can someone please post the part # for the M271 FLEECE filter?
So just like that, by using 229.5 oil and that fleece filter instead of the old one, we pre-facelift M271 people can extend our service interval from 10000 to 13000 miles? Can someone please verify?

I have the '03 Sedan but all the oil filters this online company has are parts for the '03 coupe, which I believe have the same engine (so I would assume the oil filter kits would be the same, correct me if I am wrong please).
Here is the link to the search results of the '03 C230 Coupe for oil filter kits.
I bought the Mann brand one, which is in the middle of the two. (And I just realized the first one, with brand "Full," is the one that looks exactly like the one from the dealership)
Can somebody confirm if the filters I bought will fit? Thanks in advance.
