Climate Control question
I need some clarification on operating the climate control system.
1) As I understand, you can have continuous air blowing in at a certain temperature by selecting a fan speed with the left dial and selecting desired temperatures with the two small dials in the middle.
2) You can maintain a certain temperature by pressing the AUTO button and select desired temperatures with the two small dials. As I understand, the climate control system will stop and start as required to maintain the desired temperature in the cabin.
3) You can allow ambient outside temperature air into the vehicle by selecting a fan speed and pressing the AC Off button. The temperature of the air blowing in is not affected by the two small temperature dials.
4) Finally, if the recirculation button depicting an arrow surrounding a car is pressed, the climate control will operate as described either in 1-3, but outside air cannot enter the vehicle.
Is this correct?
For #3 the outside air will be affected by the knobs. If its 30 degrees outside the knob will raise the temperature up to what ever is set. Of course if is 110 degrees outside it will not be able to bring the temp down to say 70 if the compressor is not on.
For #4 the recirculation will not stay on indefineitly. If the outside temperature is below 41 than it will shutoff after 5 minutes. It will shut off after 30 minutes if the outside temperature is above 41. The recirculate mode is activated automatically if the outside air is very hot. After 30 minutes it will allow some outside air in.
Hope this answers all your questions.
