Affordable HID kits in the bay area
Anyone from the bay area ever gone and bought any of these HID kits from these guys. I think they're located in Fremont, CA. Price doesn't seem so bad but I don't know how the quality is.

go to www.cqlight.ca
They are in Fremont,CA and are reputable (by me). I've had then on my mustang and barely put it on my C230 with no flickering. Make sure your mention in the comments box that you want the capacitors so it wont trip off your on-board computer.

btw, mines were 165 shipped.

Thanks for the link. I talked to the person on craigslist and he said his brand is called K Lights which he claims is one of the best brands out there. I can't find any info on that brand anywhere however. The ultra slim kit has aluminum ballast and the German slim kit is stainless steel and larger than the ultra slim. Both Kits he claims are waterproof and made in Germany. He's just a reseller with a business license and does not have a shop (most likely working from home). Price for both kits are $160.
I then called the cqlights.ca and they told me their kits are their own brand. Sounds like I was speaking to a receptionist so I cant really rely on what shes saying. You can only order their kits online and its $5 more. Theyre strickly warehouse.
I'm kinda new to HID kits but the first guy seems to know what hes talking about. Anyone ever heard of Klights?

I dont know about the others since there are so many. But the kit i got was referred from a Friend almost two yrs ago which his **** is still shinning like new to this day. Like i said, i had them on my mustang for 1 yr and absolute no issues.

BTW, the cqlight brand is the same as a lot of brands have out there. Stealthauto and K1 motorsports has the same ballast type. Same **** as i see it. Stealhauto.com wants 300 for the "slim" kit but cqlight already has them slim and its free 2 day shipping.

I'm sure I can install this myself but the guy is asking $40 to install it. He's willing to drive to my work and install it. Would I be wasting my $$ on installation?

Its not a bad price, but it is truly plug and play. You can do it yourself. The debate comes in when it is intalled if it truly works or if it will flicker. With a capacitor you wont have that problem since it will bypass the computer. Find out first it it comes with a capacitor. I've heard german made HID kits have something already in the ballast that there is no need to add anything to it.

Yes, i've already stated its a plug and play all the way kit. It comes with Capacitors (things that trick the computer into thinking you have the stock bulbs on there) Better yet, its "fills" in the rest of the wattage the HID's arent.
So yes, Plug and play fully and truthfully. lol
