C240 Future Engine Mod

Hi guys, I'm looking to do a engine swap or possibly boosting my car (2002 c240) with turbo or supercharger in the future. I know it cost alot of money, and probally most of you will tell me to just sell my car and go for a c32. But I got this car for a bday present and I've thrown too much money on this car and plan to keep it. So anyways, I was just wondering if I swap a c55 or clk engine into my car, would my transmission be able to handle it? would I also need to change the transmission if I plan to swap a powerful engine, or can I solve this problem with tuning and flashing the ECU? I searched the forum about this, and haven't been able to find detailed information on this. My mechanic roughly quoted me 15k to do a engine swap and tuning. I just wanted to do some more research before I pitch this project to my mechanic. Any good info will be appreciated, thanks guys!

Sell it and get a C32 or add a kleemann super charger.

Doing a motor swap will cost a lot. You would have to upgrade the trany, ecu, wire harnesses, suspension. Its just not worth it.

I'm most likely not going to change my car. I currently have Pss9 suspension and eibach swaybar on my car, other than that, its pretty stock. I've thought about a Kleemann S/C and also a smaller turbo setup, since I won't be able to add a big turbo due to the 240's high compression ratio. But my main question is would my transmission be able to handle all that power or tuning the ECU be able to solve the problem? Thanks again.

you'd be better off trading it in for a C32...it'll be a lot less than $15k

Its hard to find a good price c32 in my area. I've found one with decent price of $29k with 99800kms. Its same year as my car 2002. What do you guys think? Also another question, if I keep my current Bilstein PSS9 suspension from my c240, will it fit on c32? Thanks.

yep, the PSS9 will fit. $29k is pricey, but maybe its because you're in canada. you can get an 04 with low miles for under $30k here.

Ya! I know, if I live in the US, I wouldn't even consider about modding my car. C32 would be a no brainer Because in my area, it's hard to find a C32 and a low milleage one would cost 36k - 40k.

Buy in the U.S., then you get to take advantage of the weak dollar. Here's a place by me that gets good deals - http://www.ocpabi.com/index.asp Look under Mercedes, he's got two CLK55 for about $20K that would be nicer to have than hacked up C240.

engine swap is completely differrent from VTEC engine swap...
if u gonna keep the car (i understand what u mean), then KLEEMANN supercharger is the way to go... OR u can do custom turbo...

A mechanic quoted me 15k for a bi-turbo engine swap with ecu tuning and everything done, not sure what kind of engine it is. But he wants to keep my 240 engine. The problem is, I'm afraid theres going to be alot of maintenance and problem later on, because theres only a 1year warranty for that. So I was thinking about adding a smaller turbo to my current engine or either the kleemann S/C like you guys sed.. Have anyone have experience with the Kleemann S/C or any turbo setup? will there be alot of problems with those in the future?
