Some people on this and all the other boards need to GROW UP! Harris was just trying to do us a favor. If you're not interested in the deal......keep your mouth shut because it doesn't concern you. Some people are not happy unless they are stirring up trouble and justifying it by saying "I have a right to express my opinion" yes you do but you just make yourself look like a 10 year old out for self gratification. (Its the ME ME Generation) Take a moment to think what your effect your remarks may have on someone else.

ALSO since I'm on a roll, the stupid posts like, How do I turn my foglights on? or How much does an E class cost? or Is the C class a true Mercedes.....Just plain stupid posts take some accountability for your own life.......Look it up....You have an owner's manual.....find a website that has prices......and the last one......no it actually a Plymouth......Quit trying to get other people to do you work for you.

And finally, learn to spell and proofread what you write.....judging by some of the grammar and spelling some of you never graduated 4th grade.

Question I'm officially an idiot - help with euro impact strip install

Did first attempt at slapping these puppies on yesterday. Didn't want to force the issue too much, so didn't manhandle the current strips.

Do you start prying from the inside out, or the outside in? I know that there are those big hooks at the corners, so it looks like you go from the inside outward, and finally slip them out at those hooks. But don't want to break anything off trying.

For those I've offended over the years with my "STFF"s, this is not time for payback - I did search, and didn't come up with any posts that actually state a clear procedure.

Thanks for any help. Oh, and finally gave in - getting 8600 HIDs installed on Saturday. Soon to be blinding people all over northern NJ.

I've seen the instructions of 'pop out the markers', 'pop out the strips', 'pop the new ones in'.

Maybe you could take some pics and do an install thread when you get it figured out? I'll be getting some soon and it would be apprecited.

And don't feel bad-when I did my w211 blinkers, the first one took 3 hours, the second, 7 minutes...

Urgh, I'm trying to ignore the man, but this is just too good to let slide. At least he knows where he stands.

Got 'em from SteveML, but since Harris emailed me his instructions, I say to consider him as well.

For Steve, depends on the Euro, but should be around 135-150 real dollars (ie, not Canuck).

I just installed mine yesterday (*btw thanks Steve). I took out the amber light. then I pushed the rub strip towards the fron of the car, from the hole where the amber light was. there are two clips that need to come to the front of the car to get out. once theose are out then the rest just pops right off. I put it on a little different. I put on the sides first and made sure that they were in and the tabs were locked in place on the side where the amber lights used to be. You'll see what im talking about if you look at the strip. the the rest just snaps in place and looks sweet. I love the look, much cleaner and the amber lights on the coupe just look cheap to begin with. the sedans are at least flush with the strip, the coupes are just dumb looking.

In Germany there are a lot of people looking for the American sidemarker strips. You might want to check on mercedes-forum.com to see if there is someone willing to trade. Splitting shipping would be the cheapest way I know of. $0.02

Oh, now isn't that a hoot... Germans wanting the USDOT side markers, while some of us dastardly rogues seek to circumvent USDOT regs and eliminate them. Proof positive that the grass is always greener on the other side... :p

Trying to post *proof positive* and this toybox won't allow it; not even the pics (claims already posted).
