"Chirping" sound from behind dash/firewall . . .

"Chirping" sound from behind dash/firewall . . .
I have read various posts on this and other sites about noises, squeaks, rattles in the C-Class (W203). I have a "chirping" sound that comes from behind the dash or maybe from the firewall area. It happens only when I go over bumps, uneven pavement, etc. A few things that I have read would suggest that it is coming from the wiper motor making contact with the windshield frame, or possibly a bracket that hold some relays in the front passenger side footwell area. Another thread suggested that an electrical harness was rubbing against the firewall. I could take it into the dealer, but I wanted to see if I could isolate it, as the dealer route can be a hassle sometimes.
I plan on investigating these 3 areas today to see if I can find the source. I have checked the instrument cluster, glovebox, center console to no avail.
Anyone have any other ideas of where to look or words of wisdom?

i had a similar problem. ended up being one of the wiring harnesses attached to the firewall right behind the engine. used a zip tie.

Well, I checked the passenger side for a bracket that was holding some relays, etc. No such thing that I could see after removing the panel. I then checked the firewall from the engine compartment and tweaked the heat shields and tapped on the clips, etc.
I test drove it and the car did not seem to make the noise. I'll have to see how it does over the next few days. If the noise is gone, then I'm guessing it was one of the heat shields rubbing on the brake lines.
I am not getting any noise out of the seats/head rest, as many others have. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I don't.
