Although I don't think he painted over anything - I thought that the stock Hatchback (non-C7) came with the unpainted, grey plastic handle like in the picture.
Anyone who wants the keyhole cover - its pretty simple. Just go to the dealer parts department. They are only a buck or two.

the SL55 has the brush aluminum on the upper part of the door handle (to replace the chrome), but not the whole door handle.

The base handles on the C-Coupe are black. Also, the plastic ones have quite a bit of texture, IIRC...this one looks like someone painted a black one silver. Even the gaskets and IR window are painted. Looks like the crap some ricer would do.
I don't think the key hole covers look all that nice either. If they hade been some raised and sculpted plug, that when installed, filled out the recess in the door handle, I think that would look nice.

To further the door handle argument, I think they are either from a non-C7 coupe or any Classic model. In bright light the C230 door handle can look like the one in the picture, and I cant believe any idiot would spray paint the doorhandle.

As for what car it is...doesn't the 'el cheapo 240 model' have plastic door handles as well?
*disclaimer*- I am in no way trying to rip on the C240, regular posters will recognize the hint of the message. BTW, Felix, nice ride! My co-worker just bought an identical one for his wife...she loves it.

Where can I find these plastic keyhole covers? I saw one on a car, it is black plastic with a MB logo on it. I called a parts dept and the guy said that it was probably an aftermarket item. Did you guys get these from the dealer? If so, what is the part number for it? I'm looking for the black plastic one.
Thanks.
Thanks.
