My last car was a 1999 Ford Mustang GT convertible. I ordered a C230 coupe, Magna Red, 6-speed manual, evolution package. I felt that fit and finish much better in C230. Suspension is also much better than Stang. Too bad delivery date for my car is May 2002. I kept my stang in storage during winter months in the past. Would like to know what your reasons to choose C-Coupe over your last car.

'77 corvette
My last car was a '77 corvette. Definitely felt the acceleration on this car...when it was in working condition.

Reason I picked the C230 Coupe (black w/stick, C2 package, cd-changer)? Wanted something sporty, but with a backseat (does that go together?).

Was considering the RSX Type-S, but for a few grand more, could get a MB, which seemed better made, had more oomph in the low end, plus all the safety features built in. And that sunroof...cool.

'95 acura integra LS coupe.

considered Acura CL, RSX type S or waiting for the Mini.
to be honest, my decision was accelerated by the 9/11 attacks. carpe diem (what is that? fish? fish something? - from Roxanne )

i wanted a sporty car (had to have rear seats b/c we just had a baby). fell in love w/ the moonroof and of course, i wanted to own a mercedes. it was a little more than the acura cl, but it comes w/ free maintenance & lifetime roadside. its been 1200 miles and i'm still loving the car!

my last car was a 99 C43. To say that I really miss the sound of that V8 would be an understatement.

But one of the main reasons I upgraded was the harsh ride over the ****ty roads around Boston. After getting to know the C32, I now have even more respect for the tuners over at AMG, they did magic with the suspension. They really make a superb product.

Current car (awaiting c230 delivery to make it last car) is '93 Camry, 150,000k miles, now being rotated to college student son. Wife will drive C230, while I get to keep getting around in minivan. I'll take it when I am driving more than the usual 6 mile commute to the office, and we will find more reasons for long trips thru New England.

Had an '85 benz wagon, and loved the solid feel and superb engineering. The pricepoint on the coupe made it too attractive to pass up.

Had it for quite sometime. It was fun, though I don't miss it...was too small for me anyway.

Last car Volvo C70 2000, great car and loved it. Bought the C230, wanted to get back to rear drive and a 6 speed. I have a 2001 Volvo S60 24t for my wife and decided I wanted a sport car with no front wheel drive or automatic and still have the safety factor. In the 70's raced the 240Z and I miss the hatch back and the sports car feel. The Coupe has all that I want in a car. I noticed you are getting the Magma Red and C7, though I also post this picture and it's not "blue" but think you will enjoy.

I have c230K on order, late Dec build, feb arrival.

During the week I drive a red 97 Subaru Outback Sport with 24,000 miles on it and my wife drives our silver '99 ML320 with 45,000 miles on it. I get to the drive the ML evenings and on weekends. This is by my choice, as I only drive 4 miles to work, she drives 12 miles on a 65mph highway, so I though she needed the safer vehicle.

Our previous cars were:
94 Camry XLE V6
92 Toyota Pick up
80 Civic wagon
86 Grand Am
86 Civic SI
84 Mazda RX7
82 Mazda RX7

My current car is a '95 Honda Civic EX, 5 sp with only 30,000 miles and in perfect condition. But, I wanted a little more zip and a hatchback. And I like the MB safety features. My new toy will be a C-Coupe Orion blue/charcoal, C5, 6 sp w/ CD changer. I'm a little leary about the glass roof in the S. Fla. sun, but I can't wait to get it. Ordered early July, build mid-Dec, arrive mid-Jan.

Last Car?
1987 300TD. It had 240,000 miles when I sold it. My new, much younger, wife said I looked like an old man driving the station wagon and she 'encouraged' me to sell it and get a new SLK320K. I came home with a new '00 C280W. You just can't take the practical out of the semi-senior citizen. ...RAB :p

...nice to see another brickster here ... Was your C70 LPT or HPT, manual or auto? How do you like the Coupe compared to the C70 and/or S60 2.4T?
I've got a '98 S70A GLT (LPT) and although it seems on a par with C230K from a standing start (never raced though), the coupe handles much better and of course things like RWD with C7 and manual are so much fun!! Bad thing - the S70 is a nice car too, great long distance cruiser, but my wife doesn't like it. Nor does she like S60... Wants a sports coupe, too. Have to sell it now...

For the sake of simplifying things....
I always keep 2 cars and the current ones are:

1) 2001 MB C320 which replaced the 2001 Acura EL1700, and

2) 2001 MB CLK430 which replaced my favorite 1999 Porsche 996C2. Just traded the CLK for a 2002 SLK32 built 1st Qtr. November production and hopefully here very soon.

I don't smoke, drink or gamble. I spend all that money on cars instead.

My last and current car (until my C230 comes in!)
My last and current car is a 96 Chevy Corsica, silver, 4 door, 4 banger, maroon interior YUK! Thank you for your pity. Well, It got me though law school and the new associate years.

The car I owned before that (I was an engineer for 7 years before law school) was a 90 Geo Storm GSI (hey they were pretty hot at the time remember) LOL Besides I married a girl with a grandfather that is a Chevy dealer (I am having to jump through hoops to buy a MB instead of a Chevy). Shhhh.

The car I owned before the Geo was a Mazda RX-7. I loved that car. I actually thought about waiting for the RX-8 but knew I could never slip that one past my wife.

I can't wait to get my C230.

Peugeot 404 Coupé
, which I still have, of course. It'll never be for sale. It's a weird international car - Italian-built body, French floorpan and drivetrain, and German Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection. Weird but beautiful and loveable too.

The daily driver is a Peugeot 405, 155,000 miles and still going like new, more or less.

I do not have a C at the moment, unless you count the 3-1/87 scale ones and 1-1/43 scale one. I'll consider one in 1:1 scale in a couple of years.

OK, don't laugh...
My most recent daily driver is a '94 Ford Probe GT 5spd, the "roller skate." Has 2" of suspension travel, handles flat as my 7th grade girlfriend... a real sleeper. Curse you, retro-Mustang, for sending the Probe into oblivion!

I also have a '96 Dodge Caravan Sport. (There's as much "Sport" in this very utilitarian minivan as there is in a "Sport Utility Vehicle" which is to say, NOT! It is monotone white overall, including allow wheels. At least it "looks" more sporting than a SUV! :p

My new baby is an April production, 2001 C320, C1, C2, C3, in Desert Silver/Java. "Mr. Peanut" I altenate driving it and the Probe to work.

Future car might be a C230K, auto, C1, C5, C7, in Paprika. Who needs Orion Blue, anyway?

My previous car was a '99 VW Passat V6 5-spd, my first German car. I really loved it, but it had only 2-yr. bumper-to-bumper warranty, and I had planned to sell it after 3 yrs. I looked at a 2001 BMW 325i, but while a little sportier drive, I felt the M-B blew it away overall.

I've had many cars since I was 16, and the longest I ever kept one (the 1st one) was 5 years. My philosophy (and I've argued this w/ my friends over the years) is to sell a car while it's still in it's prime to realize the highest "cash-out" to put into the next. (I know, don't tell me about depreciation :o ). For example, I sold my Passat for $19.5K and put that toward the M-B (minus a small loan payoff). With this methodology, I've kept my payments way below typical lease rates and I borrow from a bank w/ very good interest rates. Typically, my loan amount is less than 40% of the car's value. Also, this lets me drive a relatively new car all the time without laying out much for maintenance, tires, brakes, belts, hoses, etc., etc. Plus, I love cars and always want something different. I've been married for 14 years, so I try to stay on a 4-year cycle with both of our cars.

My wife's current car is a 2000 Buick Regal GS. She loves the 240-hp supercharged engine!

Anyway, here is my car history:

1970 Dodge Challenger 340-4bbl V8 (auto)
1975 Olds Starfire 4-spd
1976 Olds Cutlass Supreme
1978 Olds Cutlass Supreme
1981 Olds Cutlass Supreme (I did like those Olds' back then - remember, it was a #1 seller for many years and GM mid-sizes were in the mainstream )
1983 Olds Cutlass Calais
1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE (top of the line w/ larger engine, etc) - 5spd
1988 Olds Cutlass Ciera (got married - needed a "regular" sedan)
1991 Infiniti G20
1995 Olds LSS
1999 VW Passat V6 5-spd
2002 M-B C240!!!
