transmission connector c230

anyone here had transmission leak? i noticed some fluid leaking and took it in, tech said it was tranny fluid leaking from the connector. I searched and found that it was common on 210s. I figured pay for the small work now rather than buy a transmission later. The bill was $280. This is the first time something broke in the car that I had to pay for, if it's a sign that there are more troubles on the way, I will drop it and not look back, as much I love it. I have yet to pick up the car tomorrow.

I just want to to get a feel if anyway had this trouble before, and if you did, did anything related follow (like a new tranny )

I have a 6 speed... but I believe that there was a recall (or at least a TSB) for the 05 autos for that specific problem.

It's common with age. The fix is easy.

splinter, thanks so much for that link, that is exactly what they replaced. it looks pretty involved, dealer charged me $175 for that work, they said that they all flushed and replaced trans fluid (i'll just have to believe it), so i guess it was worth it. I'm just glad i have the car back.

thanks again for everyones help.

If they flushed the car's transmission fluid (which is likely) you should have a new locking tab on your ATF cap under the hood.

oh i see, b/c that's where they would have drained the fluid, is it true that the connector can't be replaced without draining the fluid? if they really flushed and replace, then it was well worth it.

The link for the fix provided by Splinter is for the o-ring leak at the 13-pin trans connector (on the side of the trans pan).

Trans fluid leaking at radiator connection is a separate issue. There is an o-ring at the trans line connection to the radiator. Very likely, replacing that o-ring will take care of it. You can buy the o-ring at the dealer for couple of dollars. Expect to loose some trans fluid when you open that line. Have a qt of MB trans fluid ready while replacing the o-ring.

Don't you have a 7 speed? If so this does not apply.

Post Transmission O-Ring Repair with Partial Transmission Fluid & Filter Change

This site helped me resolve the transmission leak found at the trans connector. After removing it, no fluids came out of the socket as I expected around 1 qt. Any one know how to check the transmission fluid level or simply add additional fluid without removing the ATF cap?

Just had this replaced last week, 80$ CAD. Let's just say i was happy i caught on before it really started creating problems.... Got oil in the TCU, let them dry it out... CPS Was changed as wel... Oil in ECU... quoted over 3k...

Have they dry it and keep using your car... Mine is working fine so far.. crossing my fingers.
