2006, W203, C200K
Maximum Engine RPM at no-load

Recently, I find when I floor the gas petal while the gear is in "neutral" position, the engine RPM can only reach up to 4000. Does it sounds normal to you?

Anyone, please advise.

coz is limited...

yup i asked the same question before a year ago and because the car wanna stay healthy..

if you wanna go higher let the car roll and shift to N

then you could rev it to 6k

yup. but then you can't pop it back into drive cuz it won't catch until it falls to 3k

Even if you could do it, and you have a 6-spd, you'll just end up spinning the tires and going nowhere. I know, it was my first dragstrip experience with my pullied 02 C230. I didn't know what to do so I did just what's described, floored it until it reached the 4K limit and let the clutch go and walla, a great burnout but a crappy 1/4 mile time. It was really funny, the guy in the other lane was half way down the track and I'm still spinning my tires. He had a F150 Lightning, probably with an ASP pulley kit himself so he had a slight advantage.
