Ram Air & Filter, But Can It Make Power?
I just saw these ram air intakes and filters for the W203 C-Class on Ebay. They are $170 and claim 12+ hp. Seems to fit everything from a C240 to a C55 but they look like junk. I assume you are supposed to remove your internal filters when you put these on but it doesn't say. I just can't imagine that these would out perform the a Green/K&N or even stock paper for that matter. It looks like they'd draw hot under-hood air and any "ram" effect would be lost on the convoluted internal plumbing anyway. And "ram air" from what, they are not exposed to any high pressure air unless they mean from being near the stock inlets in the grille--that's not going to pressurize these tubes though, blowing on a filter. Has anyone tried these? I think they'd look cool but not if they blow dead bear. What's the call people?

It's a motorcycle. A 2005 fuel injected Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe. FLSTNi, "N" is for Nostalgia. Like a Fatboy but with more chrome. I installed a 1550 big bore kit with HD cast flat-top pistons, Screamin' Eagle 203 cams, 9.8:1 Stage III ported heads, Python 2-into-1 headers (the picture shows my old dual headers), Power Commander III ECU management with a custom map, accel pump feature, and HD clutch. 100rwhp/100rwtq on the last dyno. It runs high 12's now at the track but I still think my MB is quicker.
