Help With Wheel/Suspension Setup ?
i'm new here, first of all i'd like to say i'm in the UK and i have a w203 c-200 kompressor saloon which is not too bad even though i'v had loads of probs with it (mainly trip computer probs and stupid dealer)
Any as my model is a classic (manual too) i would like 2 know what wheels would fit the car and which/where/how much for suspension lowering springs ?
I was thinking of 17's with a 30mm-40mm drop, would that be any good ?
Also while i'm here i would like to ask wheather it is possible to replace or upgrade the tiny sub it comes with as standard in the boot ?
Any advice would be great !
thanks

somehow the same thought crossed my mind. after doing some research on the market on whether or not free-air subs are still popular, i only found a kicker 8 inch midbass. it would hit harder though but going through all the trouble like changing the amp and re-mounting the sub, i suggest that you should just disable the rear deck sub and add an enclosed sub in the boot.

There are a lot of wheels that can be fitted on a W203 sedan. I think the first question you have to ask yourself is how much are you willing to spend and what kind of wheels do you like (classic 5 spokes, multi-spokes or mesh). Maybe you should check it out at various websites such as Tirerack, Brabus, Carlsson, Renntech etc and get an idea of what you like.
As far as suspension goes, 30-40mm drop is only 1.2"-1.6, which isnt that much, H&R might be too low for you. Maybe you can try Renntech springs, they are really good.
Hope this helps.
ok well i like a set of wheels u get over here in the uk (dont think u can get them in the usa) any way they are 17" 205/40/17, would they fit alright with 30-40mm drop or even more? considering i carry people in the back and sometimes fill my boot up, i wouldnt want to have them scraping the arches?
thanks

225/45/17 on 17x7.5" wheels would be a better choice, you won't have any problems about the tyres scraping the wheel arches. As for springs, there are a few out there... H&R, Eibach, Kleemann, etc...
I've got Eibach on my car (C200K too) and the springs lowered my car for about 30mm, and the rides are quite comfortable too.
