Problem Help !!

I was driving will the girl friend, then heard some ratteling noises from under my car on the drivers side. I parked the car then looked under the car, i then saw what looked like a cord with a round plastic piece at the end of the cord behind the wheel ( on the inner part of the wheel) . the piece can move back and forth, and slightly from side to side. Help me out guys! tommorows sunday so the shops are closed and then its new years eve and new years! all the placed will be closed so im depending on you guys haha thanks
