Has anyone modified the way the door opens yet id really like to see it open like a diablo if anyone has done it post pics....

they're called suicide doors....very expensive to do (mostly labor) and they're like aftermarket sunroofs.......never quite fit right and leak :o

I'd like to see the hinges from a CL retrofitted to my hatchback. If you haven't seen these things, they allow the door to move forward in addition to swinging out. So even though the doors are long, they don't have to swing out as far (and bang into the car next to you) to allow a large entry opening. Very, very slick.

Other unrelated notes about the CL that interested me:
The side windows are double glazed. Maybe the others are too. The entire interior is covered in leather (no plastic whatsoever). The seat latches are cast alloy and chrome plated (ie: bulletproof).

frankly speaking..i dont know how much will they cost...around 10k?

you can pay close to $5k for a renntech monolite19's....another 4 k for a renntech body kit and 1k for an intercooler..

or do the door....

Well guess ill be looking into new things i really get a kick of those doors and im really a gullwing fan anyone want to trade one for my coupe lol.....

i'm almost willing to bet that changing out the door assembly is a bit more than $10k.

now gullwing doors are different from suicide doors (Lambo Diablo style). If Veilside (spl?) make body kit for C Coupe sure (they have a Supra w/ gullwing style doors.....outrageous)

Suicide doors are ones that the front doors open normally and the rear doors hinge in the rear, with the handle up front....correct me if im wrong, not trying to be an ***....

I always thought that suicide doors were when the rear ones open reverse of the front ones as well.

thats what i thought as well. also doesnt it remove the b-pillar or no?

Suicide doors are when the front and rear doors open from the same part...ie 60's lincolns, and no B pillar.

the front door opens normally, but the rear door opens reverse. To open like a Diablo, it would be similar to gullwing doors except the hinge is at the front not the side.
