2 Malfunctioning Messages!

2 Malfunctioning Messages!
I was driving home from the driving range today just when I was parking into the garage and about to shut off the car, I get two messages:
BAS system, visit workshop
and
Electronic Stability ...visit workshop
I shut off the car, and turned it back on and the 2 messages were gone! What the hell happened there?
I notice I've been getting spontaneous malfunction messages from time to time, but when I shut off and turn on the car, the messages go away. Anyone experience this?

I had a similar problem when my car was two weeks old...they updated software to fix the problem.
I used teleaid to call MB, they knew exactly what the problem was, made the appointment for me for later that day, and sent the dealer the exact service code and detailed info on how to repair it.
(damn, I love this car)

I have had this same problem on my '01 C240 - happened just once so far. Same situation...BAS/ESP malfunction comes on...shut the car off..turn it back on...malfunctions gone. This has also happened to my friends '02 ML320 - clears itself after restart. Dealer checked it and said everything was fine.

I get "check rear right taillight" "substitute bulb in actioin". i get this every second day and because i live in ****TY old Scotland in the UK, none of the stupid dealers know how to fix it. So i'm stuck with these silly warnings.

Last week I had 4(!) malfunction signals-the usual culprits bas, esp, abs and brake lining(? I just changed them)- and then my car DID NOT WANT TO SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR. I was on the freeway going 75 mph and then woosh back down to 1st-I have touch shift by the way- going 29 on the freaking highway. It scared the ish out of me more because I had my 1 yr old in the car. I called the service people and they said they couldnt do any appointment till the next evening. So it happened to me another six times till the appointment minus my son in the car and the highway.
But I do the same trick Even w/ the above problem just turn the car off, wait a sec and then turn it back on.

I was having trouble with the "Substitute Light" and "Left Tail Lamp" coming and going and MB replaced the left tail lamp assembly to fix the problem.

BAS/ESP...all the C-class have this problem. I got'em 4-5 times already. Once you restart the car, it's fine.
had told the dealer about this problem but on the work paper it didn't show that they checked it or not. if it shows up again, i'll bring the car back in.

I posted in a thread last week regarding the ESP/BAS errors, and copied down all the information from my service receipt about what they tested and replaced. My service advisor knew exactly what to fix since he just had a car in with the same problem, and I've had the car back for over a month now with no problems. If you search by my username you should be able to find it easily.

3 Malfunctions (First Malfunctions for me!)
OK so this is an old thread but whatever.....I have 3 malfunctions:
SOS teleaid visit workshop
SRS Visit Workshop
Defective Display visit workshop
also the red brake indicator flashes sometimes.....
The only thing I did yesterday was install mirror blinkers...what could be wrong? I'm pretty sure I have to visit the dealer to clear these right??

Recently, my ESP, left rear tail light bulb, and check engine light came on one after another. Turned off the car and restarted it. ESP and tail light warning was gone but CEL was still on. Made an appointment with the dealer and they found nothing wrong with the car except replaced a dead tail light bulb. Weird! So far no warning messages.

Well when I went outside to go to work, the messages (sos teleaid, SRS, and defective display and red brake indicator) had cleared but then came back while on my way to work. After work on my way home, they hadn't come on, so I started to drive a little rougher to see if it triggered anything...but nothing.. so no malfunctions on the way home however if it comes up at least once between now and monday, I will be taking it to be checked...but hopefully all is well..thanks for those who left a comment

Haha yeah...I have service B in about 6000 miles, which will be soon for me...I will have things checked out then...Since I just purchased my car from a used dealership in late January, I may not need a full service b, which is why I'm going to check back with the place I bought it from to get a sheet with everything that was done before I drove it off the lot...
