you can look in the screen and it will tell you but i usually have around 20-25

Go to the "after start" screen and press the arrow button twice. The "range" will be displayed. The warning comes on at 1/8(?) tank. How many miles you get from 1/8 tank depends on your driving (MPG).

My FM tells me I got 8 liters or about 2.1 gallons when the light in the fuel gauge is supposed to come on. Check your FM. Anyway, that seems to be the accepted norm in Germany regardless of what kind of car it is. If it appears to be less it must be a sensor. Miles left is kinda iffy. Depending of how much lead is in the foot. I know that on my old BMWs I knew the handshake for the computer to see how much gas was left in the tank. I know the MB computer also has that capability. We just need to figure out that secret handshake in order to display it.

my manual for my VW says i have 2.1 litres remaining when the yellow light comes on. if i remember right my 300CD and 300E had around the same, it was 2.x litres i know that.
