I have the regular H&R sport springs that drop 1.4 inches. Even though it lowered it good. I think the front needs to be lowere more.

Clearence is not a problem. i dont think clearence should be a problem with the cup kit

I used to have the cup kits. The drop wasn't too bad. Would have liked a lower front though.

I found the cup kits too soft that's why I swapped it out for h&r coil overs. Much better handling and ride. I prefer the firm ride.

If you're just after so-so handling go w/ the cup kits. I had the #2 pads on the rear and it made my car look like it had a heavy sound system in the trunk. So I swapped it for the #4 pad and made it look more even.

Hope this helps.

Its only half an inch lower in the front compared to the HR springs, price is like 3x. I don't think it's too low, everyone who i know with the C Class with cup kit including myself, thinks the front is still too high, 3 finger gap. But the back is cool.

thanks for the input...

but i guess the cup kit is lil bit too low for me

i think i better wait another 2 - 3 months to get BILSTEIN and EIBACH....cause i dont want to pay twice for the labour, better get the shocks and springs at the same time IMHO...

not too low for me, and it handles

cheers

Nice car. My car used to look exactly the same except for the rims. I had Carlsson 1/5's.

I noticed you're also from the Bay area. Where did you have your parts installed?

I have a set of H&R sport springs with the front cut one coil to get an even slam. Has anyone done this? Will my car hop alot? I really doubt it but im just curious if anyone else has tried it.

i have eibach prokit and cut it all around, and i use 19. The ride is much better than those japanese car with cut spring, still bouncy but can live with it. Swapping to Carllson coilover soon.

imo, i really like the look of cut springs, but i am against it primarily for the reason that shocks are designed to take a certain load and are manufactured and tested that way. cutting springs reduces the tension a lot and therefore decreases the load bearing capacity. looks nice, but on a benz its way too risky. i would never do it. on the other hand, if you really want to just cut your stock springs and its the same result. just don't expect the performance to improve. ride will suffer also.

I'm interested in getting lowered springs also. There are quite a few, h&r, eibachs, etc. What's the difference in the various brands?

quality, iso standards, workmanship, warranty, etc. both eibach and h&r have been around for a long time and both have excellent products. i went with h&r because they started making performance springs for porsches and mercedes. now they do all kinds, but these two makes are their specialty. personal preference.
