CBWdevil's C240 Thread

Well I took benz_addict advice and decided to start my own thread. I'll update this as I go through my mods. So far I've done the flat hood badge, threw a set of old 17's I had laying around and tinted the windows. Here in the next couple of weeks I'll get it lowed and exhaust. I'm also loving the Pioneer AVIC D3. So that will more than likely be done soon too. I'd like to add a body kit but I'll probably go with the factory amg bumpers. Thanks for looking.

Wheels aren't 19's but they will do.

Until I get my CL style grille, this will do. I took the chrome trim off my grille, I painted(the painter at my work actually) the insert from the grille I bought from psiterror, then slapped 'em together. Nice little change.

Should just paint the horizontal slats white and leave the vertical slats black.

But this is a good idea, I never know the chrome part can be taken off the frame

Well done. Mine is just the opposite, I don't like chrome.

I think this grill would look great on your car.

Oh you and Kev with your Eisenmann bashing. They sound great and don't have to cost an arm and a leg. I paid like $400 shipped for mine.

On topic, the cars looking great. Update the headlights and you'll be looking much better (I should take my own advice). Happy modding.

Headlights are going to be a b*tch. I called this place up in san francisco that we do business with, ssf or something like that. For Bix they wanted 1050/side and for xenon they wanted 1120/side. I'll try to hunt some used ones down if I can, in good shape.

Before anyone else gets to it, Steve from MBenzNL usually sells them in the range of about $1200-1300 for both. That's brand new AFAIK. I'd say shoot him a message and see what he can do for you.

Sorry, I'm going to be a complete n00b here. Do the BiX plug right in to the stock harness? Or do you have to splice it in? Plus my dealer is being a total d*ck and said they wont be able to help me. So i'm going to take the following to them and show them it's possible....

Yap, just plug in the stock connectors on your BiX and that's it. Make sure you activate your XENON feature to ON/PRESENT first, so it doesn't flicker/not working after you install the BiX.

I just got a quick question about the Pioneer D3. I went to my local stereo shop near my business today and WOW!!!!! They wanted nearly $2000 for the D3 unit and bluetooth installed. This sounds a lil high to me. I mean the components alone are roughly $1100, right? Does this sound a little outrageous?

Ok, I was sifting through all the old posts and found that performance products sells a carbon fiber dash trim kit. I like it alot but what do you guys think about the tan and carbon look? I know black interior w/ carbon looks good. I know its ultimately my decision but I would like some input. I also got a set of Bix which are installed. I'll post a pic. The dealer and MB tech were actually decent about making the setting change. No charge and come to find out the MB tech actually races a w203. Good dealer experience

haha, i want the cf kit too, but i don't know how it would look on our interior colors. i don't remember seeing anyone with a black trim kit as of yet in our beige/cream interior.

your dealership is cool, i got mine done for free too, took less than 5 minutes
