2002 Coupe heating problems...
When I operate the unit in Auto mode with AC On (not EC mode), it seems to work fine.
If I turn on 'EC' mode (AC OFF), the air starts coming out very hot, regardless of the temp. setting (outside temp 79F, both temp knobs turn FULL LEFT (64F), the air is still scorching, like the heater is on full blast. The position of the 'cold air' wheel doesn't seem to matter. Turning the AC on again returns the system to normal (cool air), but once switched off, it's normal for about 10 minutes and then starts blasting hot air again. Happens with AUTO mode set to ON or OFF, doesn't matter, if EC is ON (AC is OFF), the air comes out heated.
Is this normal? Does the fresh air intake go through the intercooler or something?
TIA
The intercooler is not connected to the HVAC in any way.
..But I'll call the service dept. and have them take a look. It could use a wash anyway...
Thanks!
