BMW 520i, C180
Smile Little Help here

Guys, since my dealer is not helping me, (out of warranty) how do you bleed the cooling system?? I have a 2001 C180 to fix here. :-)

Hi, I'm from ARUBA, Caribbean island. The dealer here imported alot of C180's during that time.

possibly like other cars- have the front end slightly raised and let the car run and get up to temp with the radiator/coolant cap off? i don't know for sure though- that's how i've done it with other non MB cars in the past.

No need to bleed because the reservoir is higher than the coolant passages in the head.

that's what i had posted above- but i don't know if that's standard procedure for a benz though. it's what i've done on other cars in the past though.

If the reservoir is below the coolant level in the engine there will be a bleed valve to let the trapped air out. If the reservoir is above the coolant in the block there is no need because any trapped air ends up in the reservoir ....which shows up as low coolant level after coming up to temp. So fill, let it warm up, and top off reservoir.
