my salesman just called. my car left maryland yesterday and is on the way to my dealership in illinois. he could have it by tomorrow or monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm going crazy. my heart is racing and i can't sit still. i've been dreaming about having this car for a year now and it will be mine next week!!!! i will post pics the second i can.

It's amazing what a hunk of metal, glass, etc. does to a guy, huh . That's OK, I've been known to cruise by the dealer daily to check for any delivery trucks! I actually hate when they say "any day" ... makes you even more anxious... I went by on a weekend and thought I saw my car on the roof of their garage -- was going to go back home and get binoculars... my wife can't understand this behavior :p .

Imagine this:
I had to wait 5 months enduring various backorders. I was counting the minutes down to delivery. Finally, I got the call that the car was at the delear but, I had school that night (Tuesday) so I couldn't pick it up. The day after I went to pick it up and it found out the CD changer (which I had confirmed with a sales rep had been installed the day before) was NOT installed. In addition to that, the fuel guage was not reading "full". So I had to leave the car there and pick it up the next day (Thursday). Thursday came and they called to tell me they were waiting for the fuel sending unit to come in. I had to wait till Friday. Friday came and they still didn't have the part but I could pick the car up and bring it back when the part came in. So basicly, it sat in the lot waiting for a part to NOT arrive. I could have had the car the entire time.....

I hope everything goes smooth when your car arrives!

now i'm wondering how long it's gonna take for them to prep the car once it arrives. they have to install the door sills and the mud guards. i hope it doesn't take too long. i want it before thanksgiving.

i did order it from a dealer. the build option on mbusa.com is just to get on idea of price. you don't actually order it from them. it's just a tool. and i got a great price from invoicedealers.com. i'll give you my testimonial on them if you want it.

I remember driving by the other dealership in town and seeing all the unpackaged cars just delivered at like Midnight and then driving all the way across town to the other dealer just to see if mine was there... and giving it a big hug when I found it on the lot.

It took them 2 days to prep it, longer if it had to be tinted.
