How many caliper pistons?

Have a '05 C230 Kompressor with the "Sport Package" and have the Brake service light on. I'm going to order pads for the front but not sure if I have the 4 piston calipers or the 2, does anyone know?

i used to think the same thing, but i was proven wrong by "e1000"

i believe the only non amg W203's that have the 4 piston fronts is the 2004.5 cars. the 2005-2007 have 2 pistons.

ok.

2004.5 has the 4 piston calipers.

only SOME early 2005's have the 4 piston calipers

after that, 2005+ cars have 2 piston calipers.

C350's have the 4-piston calipers.

easy way to tell is to look at the caliper, if it had 2 torx bolts on the outside, one on each side of the caliper, it's 2 piston, if you have 4 bolts visible, it's 4-piston.

Alright noob question!
What would the difference be to the driver between a 2 piston caliper and a 4 piston caliper?

Thanks.

Cost. Although I've driven both and honestly, there's not a huge difference. Even the two piston fixed calipers are more than adequate to stop the C230.
