Is This A Good Deal or What For An 05 C230 With 48K Miles For $15,000 WOW !
Im currently looking to buy an 05 C230 Sedan. I like the appeal for Mercedes and this will be my second car I ever purchased. I just happen to find a silver one on Autotrader for a Cheap Price of $15,999. But I called the Dealership and stated Im from outta town and I will need a price to lure me into buying this car. They qouted me the lowest price of $15,000. I ran the carfax everything looks good. Am I getting a good deal ? Also are these cars reliable ? The car still has some factory warranty remaining which is peace of mind. I want to act on this deal, but first I need some good advice and opinions.

The depreciation on cars is unbelievable.
My 05 c240 came with the original window sticker - 39k
I got it with 18k miles on it, CPO, extended bumper to bumper warranty - for close to half the original MSRP. And without a scratch on it. They even replaced 2 of the rims at my mere mention of noticing some curb rash on them.
When I brought it home my neighbors looked at it and thought it was a new car!
I would feel like a real *** if I bought one new for 40k!!!

But I love my car, I have a 2003 C230. The problems with our cars are mostly electronics. But you may hear people complain about high labor costs from the dealership. However, if you are willing to work on your car yourself, you should be fine.

the post facelift w203 normally have less issues, from what i read on the boards. you should be good to go- keep up on normal maint. and you should be in good shape.

Seems like a good deal. Get a Carfax on it. It isn't a complete assurance of no issues, but it helps. If there was any major accidents or something like that it should show up. Accent on the should.

Possibly a 05 C230
Its Legit Guys car is clean. The wholesale price for this car is $13800 for this car, thats what the dealer paid. They will sell to the consumer for big profit margins. This is no surprise. Good deals can be had if the consumer shop close to wholesale price rather than lower than sticker price. The cars depreciate like crap. Oh well, I cant wait to get my car.

Haha, these cars are a low price for a reason, a lot of problems with the engine, rest of car is fine though. On the high end of engine problems is exhaust valve problems where the heads are replaced, on the mid range of problems is cam sensors that leak into wiring and take out O2 sensors, on the lower end of the scale is bad MAF sensors, bad CPS sensors, vacuum lines that rot. On the good end, many of the problems are fixable.

I just used that link and searched your zip code within any radius for up to $21,000 and got about 14 pages of cars, the first 12 pages were at or over 19,000. Doesn't that strike you as odd? In most instances, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. I don't care what a carfax says....they aren't reliable. an accident can easily go unrecorded....even major ones. Have you seen the car? it could have dents all over it, been keyed, been repainted on a few of the panels...etc. DO NOT take a dealers word for it. Judging the condition of a car is totally subjective, make sure you look at it first hand before buying.
Also, it makes me wonder why they would take a car that is already an incredible steal at $15,900 and discount it further just to get you there? And $13,800 for trade on wholesale? Who traded the car....Jack, along with magical beanstock beans?
This past Dec., I traded my '06 VW Rabbit with 33k miles...that I bought for $16,000 brand new in June '06...for $12,800 on my wife's new 3 coupe that I got for $1800 off sticker. THAT was fair. This is a scam...or the car's trashed.
