check engine came on
i was driving home from the Irvine spectrum, where there was aMB meet today, and on my way home my check engine light came on,anybody know why?till then i will make an appoint asap, but is it safe to drive till then?
Your car has several "non factory options" right? Make sure none of your new plumping has come loose, or any sensor wires are dislodged.
BTW, hows it feel now? Pull harder?
It just occurred to me, Buellwinkle. Maybe your car likes to go to the dealer so often because while you're in the waiting room chowing down on the donuts and cookies and driving away in your loaner, your car is on the shop floor talking to the other MBs about how quiet it is without you in the car. The shop might be the only place on earth where your car feels peace and quiet from all the complaints... :p
Sorry. Just having a little fun, dude.

Saying you don't mind a car that visits the workshop often because you get free cookies and a car wash is like saying that you enjoy being sick often so you can read all the free magazines in the Doctor's waiting room
Each spark plug has two ignition somethings. Two of them gave up the ghost and the the light came on. Replaced both and all is well again.
For the record with OBDII almost anything will set off the light. My VWVR6 had the same problem and they never could make it stay off. My Honda's (both of them) same problem. With all the electronics on cars today it's wonder it dosen't happen more.
Be glad your not driving a Jag. World famous for that wonderful Lucas junk.....
