Yeah, this better not be a joke lol, I'm sure it could be a recall....
How will owners with no warranty know about the recall? (besides reading about it here?)

lol no need its true I walked across the street and verified. its campaign number 2008020002...and yes, its that stupid hose everyone's worried about. I pointed it out on a diagram. get it done free, i've done it myself twice and would definitely let the stealer handle this.

So, like, do you get a loaner or something while they fix it? Or do I have to wait for four hours while I indulge myself in cookies and milk?

What about us suckers that had to pay when we were just out of warranty? I wonder if there's any chance they'll re-imburse ...

Well no, where I work it's a street away so if I just dropped my car off in the morning, they SHOULD be done by day-end...unless of course they can't work on my car due to it looking a little funny under the hood =).

I am interested in getting this "free" work done. What exactly will be repaired/replaced if I bring my 2005 C230K SS in to the dealer? Also, am I just supposed to cite the campaign number mentioned earlier in this thread to the SA?

wow this is extremely ironic. today was the first day in months I decided to run through the DIY stickies. I saw the $12 hose replacement thread and I was planning to get it done this weekend. I feel so lucky this came across. Thanks a lot for posting all the updated info on the recall guys.
Just wondering...the PCV hose and lower hose will be replaced. Which hose is considered the "lower" hose? I only know of that $12 hose in that one service thread. Also....when I call in do I just mention the campaign number and they should know off the bat what it is? Or do I need to know the part numbers (if so, what is the part number for the 'lower' hose?)

Wow, that's fantastic. I was going to figure out how to pinch it and break it but now I don't have to.
If only they will do the cam sensor harness update for free for the 2004-2005 too (they do it for the 2003 only). Maybe those Valeo radiators also. And an extended warranty period on the heads. Ironically my Canyon has a similar head issue but GM extend the warranty just for that issue for 100K miles.

Is there a way to find what "campaigns" exist?
I've had continual ESP errors from the beginning, and despite the dealer working on it like 10 times, it still gives me errors.

I had the hose problem on an '03 last November. It was expensive but I had no idea what the problem was. I plan on writing a letter to MB after this week when I'm less busy.
On my bill, the part number is 271-018-12-82, but on this thread, https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/233246-diy-m271-12-hose-replacement.html
the part number is A203-018-12-82, and is called the crankvase vent hose. Is this the same hose?
Actually, after googling that part number, it came up with thread here in January. I guess the a203 is the canadian part#? Man, two months too late. I really needed the car at the time, but man did the dealer screw me. 500 dollars could've bought me a new set of tires.

Well, at least they gave me the newest hose. The fact that they replaced the hose 4 times means they knew about thise problem a long time and should've just issued a "campaign" much earlier.
There really should be a sticky of common problems on these cars like on m3forum.com. I'm thinking about buying an e36, but those things have some crazy problems (exploding water pumps ).
I'm not on here that much, but I can think of:
the $12 hose
valeo radiators
coupe trunk latch
rear suspension bushings
At least none of these are will leave you stranded, but then again our cars aren't a decade old yet.
