PCV Hose
Has anyone received a response from MB that paid for this service before it became a recall. I contacted them last week and no response. Might just make an appointment with SA.

Here are some PNs for reference.
271-010-00-82-05 HOSE - this is not an individual hose, but is actually a full kit for the entire job. Includes 3 hoses (including the $12 hose), check valve, 4x injector o-rings, and 4x intake gaskets. This PN has been discontinued in Canada but may still be available in other countries. See link below (complete replacement) for all relevant PNs.
$12 hose replacement - only top hose, superseded by link below
Complete crankcase breather system replacement - 3 hoses total (includes $12 hose) and check valve

Many of us did this fix with this part number from the previous thread:

What has changed with this one? Is it worth it to get the new part?

Just got the call from my dealer. Car started idling rough just yesterday. Out of warranty so I am very happy that I got that call. Funny that it just started this yesterday. Car ran fine before lunch and after lunch on the way back to work, then when I got to work and went to park the idle was crap.....

Just wanted to share my experience with you guys today at my appointment for the recall work. The printout states that they performed Campaign #2008020002 for a "Engine Vent Hose" (P# PK2008020002) and "Hose" (P# 271-010-00-82-05) replacement. Alongside this I talked to my SA about doing a brake fluid flush, and told him to just grab me the best deal he could get. I got a loaner car (the Enterprise rental service adjacent to the dealership ran out of C-classes so I got stuck with a Pontiac Grand Prix) for free. About two hours after leaving the dealership I got a call about my foglight (I knew it was out, just lazy to do it myself since it went out RIGHT atfer I changed the bulb on the other side) and my brake pads. So I started talking about prices with all the additional work, since brake pads and a bulb were going to be changed too now. After arriving at the dealership, I talked to my SA. Total came out to $346.09. Not so bad, I got charged $88 for the Brake Fluid flush. $200 for rear brake pads.......then...I saw....$50 for a frickin foglight bulb!??!?!? Mannnn....all the other prices were great...but that bulb price just killed me. But all in all, I am very satisfied with everything I got done today.

Lemme know what the deal is too in toronto. If this PCV hose improves gas mileage then my car might need the hose replaced cuz compared to the summer when i was getting 8-9 L per 100km to now im getting 12-14L per 100km....big difference.

I see you have a C240, are you sure it does have the same cam sensor problem. This was the cause of my increased gas mileage as it fouls the O2 sensors and causes the engine to run rich.

My gas sipping C-Class
I just called and made an appointment for next week.
There's 2 campaigns for my car:
1. Driver's side air bag
2. Vent hose.
This was going off of my VIN.
I will ask the SA about the cam sensors, but I will have Jerry's MB Service near my house replace those if I have to pay for them. He's half the price of the dealership.
Once I pick up the car, I will report back with any improvements in performance and/or gas mileage. I'm hoping, with 130k miles on my car, there will be an increase in both.

My gas sipping C-Class
I think I have everyone beat! I plan oh having the car well through 200k miles.
I will be buying another GTI though, probably before the year is up. The benz will be my daily driver and the GTI will be my fun car.
I need to sell my MGB first though...
Thread jack..lol......1973 MGB. Supercharged, sierra 5spd, etc...etc...

Thanks Kristin, i'm waiting for it to warm up outside so i can see if theres actually a problem or if the cold weather is just causing poorer gas mileage on my short-medium trips

If you have a M271 or M111 these connectors are EASY to check, 2 mins including time to open the hood. If you're cold being in Toronto, go park inside somewhere, otherwise suck it up, its cold in Canada. A few months of driving will cause more oil to seep everywhere and increases your chances of ruining the ECU.

So I got my hose fixed at the dealer free a couple weeks back......and yesterday.....car starts rough idling again, lost power, bad mpg, and check engine light is on again....so bummed right now.
Even the same day I got it fixed, the tech didn't secure the clamp enough, and my car lost like 75% of its power, i almost got plowed on the highway...brought it back and they "secured" the clamp.
If they fix it again, and it continues to fail, what am I gonna do? lol...
