factory amp missing NEED HELP!!!
I have a huge problem and I am hoping you guys can help me out. I had an aftermarket navi installed and today the place that installed it went to reinstall my factory system because my lease is up tomorrow.
Now the fun part. The stereo shop tells me the factory amp is missing. Long story short I am screwed.
First question. Where is the factory amp supposed to be located? The car is a 2005 c230 and I have the upgraded entertainment package.
Second question. What would be the cost to replace the amp?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

the amp in on the right side of the trunk. take the cover off then you will see a maybe 10in by 8in amp. sorry dont know how much is it to replace tho

How did it wind up missing? Did you check what they did when you installed the aftermarket stuff?
No flame, but that's why its a bad idea to mod when you're renting.

The factory amp weighs 4 lbs and costs about $ 300.00 per pound. If it is not in the trunk on the rear of the wheel arch (passenger side), and there is no connector for the speakers in the rear, you did not have an amp.
The head unit is the same for premium sound amp or not. There is a power amp in the head unit. If the speaker wires are on connectors for the HU, you did not have an amp for premium sound. The installer should be able to run wires to the head unit for the speakers.
Do you have a subwoofer? It would be under the package shelf. If it is not there, you did not have premium sound.
Lastly, if you did have premium sound, and you connect the speakers to the head unit directly, there is no place to attach a subwoofer. You will also need to connect the dealers computer to program the head unit to run without an external amp.

No i didn't check when they installed the aftermarket stuff. I figured they just left it in there. I looked in the box they gave me and only the head unit was in there. And yes I am learning not to mod my leases so much.

I understand it is supposed to be in the trunk on the passenger side, but do I have to remove the carpeting to see it or what? Can someone maybe take a picture for me. Thanks again!

Had to have been the shop that did the install.
The original paperwork with the car comes with a small sheel with a list of option codes, one would be the amp, though I think only the dealer can decipher those codes.
Also on EPC it tells you.
