what I want...what will I pay

Forum,

I went down to the MB dealer to take a peek at the C-coupe. It's a very nice car, and I'm impressed with the price range. Typical salesperson story: They showed me the ride and pressed that I need to get an order in right away to get one. I'm in the market for the car, but I can wait a while.

So, I know I want a Bordeaux Red, cloth seat, panorama roof, with a CD player. I did not consider the CD player, but after playing around with the controls on the steering wheel *very nice work, MB* and taking a look at the glove box, I must have it. The glove box has two large compartments, so having the CD changer in one will not hurt a bit.

Is there any members out there that have a similiar equipped car? Did you pay the sticker price, get any freebies, or even get a discount. Let us know.

Thank you.

dealer invoice +3% is a doable number in areas where there are enough dealers that they want to compete for your business.

i may get in trouble for this, but i'd get the MDX. i think the 309 acura dealership rocks! loaner cars (enterprise rentals), free washes, courteous service, etc. the MDX is hard to get though.

It's okay, young. I'd take an Acura MDX over an ML any day.

I paid List in a town with only 2 small MB dealers. All I was able to negotiate was, they threw in the CD-Changer ($750) and the Ski/Bike Rack ($414).

They did however search the country and found the exact car I wanted at a PA dealer and had it shipped to my dealer in 7 days. So I did not have to wait.

invoice?

How do I find invoice on the c-coupe?

This is not the price at the dealership, but the price paid BY the dealership, yes? Most likely I will get it without the CD Player, buy one myself and have the dealer install it. Can save a few bucks here.

Let us know how the bike racks works out on the coupe. Does it work with the glass roof?

http://www.edmunds.com/ is pretty accurate. Be sure to include the metallic paint charge if your color is metallic. Also, don't forget about the 3% holdback that MB dealers get. All together, with 3% holdback, an MB dealer has the potential of making a full 10% on a C230.

I did not get any special deals on mine . At first I wasn't going to get the CD changer, but decided to get it at the last minute to avoid the hassle of looking for an after market one.

As far as invoice, check out Edmunds.com. They not only give you invoice, but they give you the average price that people are actually paying for the car (along with the MSRP).

Mercedes invoice cost

Everything that I've seen on Mercedes invoice pricing indicates that the gross profit margin from invoice (dealer cost) to MSRP is 7% on all models and options. If that's correct (which I believe it to be) It's easy to determine invoice cost. Use the Mercedes web site 'build your own' feature to configure a car to your liking (do not include dealer installed options such as the CD changer). Take the final MSRP and subtract the destination charge to determine the '$ figure' from which you can calculate invoice cost. Then simply multiply the '$ figure' by 93% and you will have the invoice cost.

They also have a 3% holdback from MB. That's 3% on total MSRP (including options, but not including delivery) that they get back after the car sale is made.
