I tried searching the forum but not having any luck on finding a thread about trunk won't close.
When I push down on the trunk it seems like the locking mechanism is failing.
I tried to look and see and there is nothing on the way. Trunk closes but just wont lock.
Anyone else had this problem fever? THanks.
Tried pressing the green button, no luck.

 

take a look at where the locking mechanism is, take the little plastic piece that covers it off. The lock probably just became loose and shifted down so the trunk lid doesn't go far down enough to engage it, there should be 2 torx bolts that hold it in place, shift the locking mechanism back up and tighten the bolts again.

 

Had the same problem last week. Got some great help here as usual. I didnt' need to take the latch apart.

Spray it down liberally with anything except for WD40. I used silicon grease. A jelly would have been better, but I didn't have a grease gun handy.

Let the lube soak up overnight and by the next morning, it should close normally.
