I know how to do it, and I even checked the manual when I was unsuccessful, in case I really didn't know how to do it. Turn key on, bring up FSS reminder, hold reset button for 4+ seconds and wait for it to say "are you sure...?", but it never says "are you sure....?", it just goes back to the previous screen (odometer, I think). so my FSS indicator now says "service B exceeded by 8500 miles", which is not the case; it's just been 8500 miles that I've been (unsuccessfully) trying to reset it. What am I doing wrong? I've tried it car running, car off, key position 2, 3. At one point, I pressed the reset button repeatedly (maybe angrily) and ended up in dyno mode.

I was just having problems with my wife's—the exact same as you. Put the key into position 3, scroll to the maintenance message, hold the reset button down till you get another message, then hold the reset button down for another 3 seconds. It worked for me. Good luck...
