Newb here, looking into buying a 03-06 C class.
The car I'm looking at now is an '03 C320 4Matic 62K miles.
I'm looking for a mechanically reliable car. I maintain my own vehicles. I can't stand the way most mechanics, dealer, or not, fix things. I guess I'm one of the few **** auto repair guys out there. I fix things right, the first time. Not just good enough.
I can deal with most small electronic issues, which seem to be the most common problem with the W203 series. But I'm more concerned with long term reliability. I usually hold on the vehicles for 10 years or so. Some longer, AKA :the good ones. 1984 Mazda B2000, 1993 Ford F250 Turbo Diesel.
So, what can a guy expect from the 3.2/4Matic?
I can deal with timing belts struts, ect. But I don't want to be changing $1200 diff's,cams cranks, ect.
We live in Duluth, Mn. 3-6% grades, and snow are common. So the 4 matic would be a great benefit for my wife.
