C240 gear does not up-shift
Hello all,
I have 2002 C240, three days ago the automatic transmission started acting up, when I start the car, sometimes, the transmission does not up-shift, it stays in first gear. When this happens, the tiptronic gear shift stops working as well. To remedy this, I need to restart the car.
Does anyone know what may be wrong, I have less than 50,000 miles on the car.

In addition to a weak battery, you could also have a leak in a transmission switch, and transmission fluid has wicked up the cable and filled the transmission control unit with fluid.
Is there any slipping when driving? This can be caused by a Valeo radiator mixing some anti-freeze into the transmission fluid.
