Question Question on Wire Mesh?

What I wanted to do until I have enough money to get a kit on my car and to decide which kit i want, I was wondering if its possible to remove the plastic in the center of the bumper on a 2004.5 C230 and replace it with some kind of wire mesh/honeycomb. I wish I had a picture to show u guys but im talking about the stock 2004.5 bumper which has that platic that goes across between the 2 fog lights. It makes the car look like its smiling, and I kinda dont want my car to be smiling. lol

Yeah, I've wanted to do it since I've seen it on my buddy's E500 a couple years ago and it looks really good. I've just never had the chance to really look underneath the car to see if theres any screws. I'd imagine it a torx screw. Ammar let me kno if you figure anything out!
