In-dash nav - Not comand or retractable screen

Any leads on some brands? I'd love an indash nav, but I can't stand the screens that pop out and up. They seem like an afterthought. I want my screen in the dash like comand. BUT comand is pricey and CD based.

Any others out there that are built ins?
TIA

Peet, I believe Clarion makes one but the screen is twice as small.

It is a Nav unit though, it will give you arrows and distance to turn and such.

I saw it in the first issue of Benzo magazine. I'll try to see if I could find it for you!

You can probably have it custom done. But that might cost around 2,000 and that includes the navigation and tv. Best option is to do Command, Cheaper and better looking

Blaupunkt TravelPilot 150 RNS

Blaupunkt TravelPilot 159 RNS

Harman/Kardon TrafficPro

The Harman/Kardon TrafficPro is identical to the Becker unit of the same name sold in Europe. It is very similar to the Audio 30 APS. The Audio 30 APS has some additional software on its cd-rom's and will not work in North America.

The TrafficPro site says that it will not fit in the C-class. This is not quite true. As with any DIN size component, the Metra insallation kit can be used. The Metra kit would be needed for the Blaupunkt units, too.

As a matter of fact, I will be dropping by a Blaupunkt dealer this afternoon to check them out.

Clarion NAV

Check out the Clarion AutoPC, it does navigation and much much more, on a small screen. Look on Ebay there should be someone selling it.

Sorry - I should have been clearer...

I like the screen (LCD) and would want a 2 DIN unit. For example Clarion used to have one as did others. But it looks like now all are retractables.

I don't like comand because:

1) CD only - not DVD
2) can only play CD or NAV not both (unless changer)
3) not touch screen

These are all points before I ever used one. I don' t know how well it performs - slow? fast?

I used the BMW system that's in most current cars and it sucked! I am leery that the mb one is similar. So that's some of the reasons I want aftermarket
