I think <chase> is the right word here, which means you stayed behind the M3 for the entire distance. The only way you could pass is if your suspenders were caught in the M3 drivers door.

i know right? i knew i would never be able to pass the m3, but it was sure fun as hell chasing it. i know way better than to even think of taking an m3, lol. but i guess some people like phil misunderstood what i was saying, and in the end made his own assumptions. eh, whatevers.

I love how you're trying to change it around...

you said "chase an M3 no problem." I told you that if I stayed in 6th and was at 3000rpm I'd stil dust you. implying that there's no way you would even be able to give chase. then you replied and said that "guess he was just toying with me." sounds like an admission to me.

in the other thread I made the exaggeration b/c I thought it was funny that you thought you'd keep up with a car that does 0-60 in 4.9 in a car that does it in 7.2 and didn't even know what engine you had and thought that he was actually going all out b/c "I could definitely hear him gun it."

well, with your financial aid modding, poor advice to noobs and not knowing what engine you have, not much is expected from you. but apparently you're an expert on M3's now b/c you can hear them going all out. eh, whatevers.

in short, not everyone is going to race you, it's called cops and being responsible. the M3 isn't that fast, but it'll eat a C320 "no problem". also, I'm sure Ed's and Todd's C230's would dust you in a heartbeat. try driving other cars and that might change your opinion of the C320.

that red one
I'm going to through in my 2 cents, because I just recently bought an 05 c320 and I was originally looking at and test drove four 07' c230's.

I think the c320 is faster overall, BUT I will say that off the line, the c230 has more punch and overall feels more nimble and lighter than my c320.

If you're looking to keep the car stock and want a faster model then get the c320, but if you're looking to mod it then I'd say get the c230 - it just feels like a lighter car and a bit more responsive.

Either way, I really don't think you can go wrong - they are fun & comfortable cars to drive! Good luck!

bro, how exactly am i changing it around? i'm staying true to what i said, i chased a m3 on a freeway no problem.
you said "chase an M3 no problem." I told you that if I stayed in 6th and was at 3000rpm I'd stil dust you. implying that there's no way you would even be able to give chase. then you replied and said that "guess he was just toying with me." sounds like an admission to me.
when i said i chased an m3 no problem, i was saying i was chasing it no problem, there's no play of words or anything. i didnt keep head to head, didn't beat it, didn't hang on to it's tail, just chased it. and i'm pretty sure the word chase doesn't exactly note if i was close behind or far behind; hence why i chose it. not once did i EVER say that my car was superior or even AT the level of a m3. i said i chased it, not keep up with it, so what did i admit to? chasing it?
in the other thread I made the exaggeration b/c I thought it was funny that you thought you'd keep up with a car that does 0-60 in 4.9 in a car that does it in 7.2 and didn't even know what engine you had and thought that he was actually going all out b/c "I could definitely hear him gun it."
like i've said, this was on the freeway going 80 already, so my 0-60 time doesn't really have any part in this discussion. i did hear him gun it, what does a SCREAMing exhaust note mean? we were on a 80 mph roll and i heard it distinctly, loud and clear. not to mention we were side by side.. it's pretty easy to hear any outside noise when you're doing 80 on a clear freeway at 12 am, so when a extremely loud/sexy exhaust note is sung.. well, you know
well, with your financial aid modding, poor advice to noobs and not knowing what engine you have, not much is expected from you. but apparently you're an expert on M3's now b/c you can hear them going all out. eh, whatevers.

now now, lets be nice. seems your comments are getting personal bro. not much is expected from me? well i don't expect any to come to me running for advice, but that's no problem. you sound just like my pops when he told me that, and i just showed him by going to school and staying out of trouble, haha.
but anyways, i don't know what engine i have? so? like most new people knew what engine their benz had? now if i had any japanese car i would definitely know. i came from liking imports to learning bout german cars, and you can't cut me some slack? well, at least i knew what w203 was haha. and when did i ever say i was an M3 master? i know enough about the m3, but not to a point where i ever called myself master. and i'm pretty sure people can tell the difference in exhaust tone when it's at WOT..

i modify my car with MONEY i can afford to lose, which means after careful budgeting and priorities such as books/gass, i have a sum of money i can spend, whether on cigarettes, carparts, recreational activities, casino, or just about anything. i didn't take out a loan for this freshman year, so all this money comes from grants and scholarships. i am a person that understands money is hard to make, through my own life experiences and through experiences of others. my poor advice, well is poor advice, but ever since the spacer comment i have not given any advice until i was close to accurate. so i don't even know where that remark came from.

i know no one is going to race me, in fact, i don't start it; its other cars that initiate the confrontation. the m3 happened to beam and honk at me a few times; guess since i was in a debadged benz, and he was in a m3 that it was a destined match. i try to be responsible, but who is perfect? definitely not me. again, how many times do i have to tell you, that i never once mentioned my c320 was faster or kept up with an m3? i know it will eat me no problem, i never said otherwise..

i drove plenty of cars, and i still say the 350z is one of my favorites. i drive my cousin's whenever i need the rush of straight raw power, or i drive a 745i when i just want to cruise and float in the air. but after all that, you're assuming that i think the c320 is the straight sh t. i never said anything about the c320 other than it's a fun car to drive in the city, especially with the healthy amount of torque the m112 [!] has. guess people should learn something new everyday!

wow, long response, still pretty lame. but unlike you, I'm not going to go through it point by point.

here are some things that stand out.

as for the exhaust, all M3's with aftermarket exhausts, even ones with stock exhausts, vary. he could have been pushing it from 4k rpm to redline or 4k rpm to 5k rpm and you wouldn't know the difference unless you've driven one extensively. you'd probably think I was going WOT if I was at 4k - 4.5k rpm, but not close...

regarding the cars you've driven, greeeat. if you think a 350z has "raw power" try driving a Z06 or M5. I really don't hold the 350z or G35 with much regard. I'd rather get an S2k over a 350z.

what I'm getting at is seriously think about what you write here. it's not the most flattering and it doesn't make you look cool or give you any respect. also, I wouldn't be going at you and I was actually done with it, but you brought me back up in your little quoted response to Moviela.

i'm not trying to be cool and respected bro, i don't have the knowledge or rep to even be considered a help to this forum like you and other senior people. but sometimes there seems to be an elite class on these forums where people think they are the top dog, and such attitude doesn't seem very nice. calling my response lame? it's kay, i guess so because you said it is.

you're probably right about the exhaust, but i heard it over my eisenmann, and that exhaust itself is loud as hell, so i'm guess i'm just assuming it was WOT. like i said, i don't have an m3 although i am still in love with the e36, and hope to have one, one day. funny thing is, i'd rather have an s2k also, but the 350z is just a fun car to me. guess i'm still to young to even sit in the driver's seat of an m5/z06, but nonetheless they are supercars.

in regard, i do think of what i write here. i was merely trying to help a potential w203 buyer by naming somethings that i've experienced. i never said i could take an m3, just chase it. you just happened to think that i meant otherwise, that i could keep up with one! i know there's no way in hell i would even be able to match up, unless i had a c32. what am i to do? you made it seem, like i noted, that i thought i was able to keep up with a m3. just wanted to clear it up. i personally wouldn't care also bout the other thread's comments, but your post earlier seem to make ME look like i was really an . just wanted to clear things up, but if you're not reading it and giving a chance for me to justify myself, it's fine.

pssh, and i'm trying to look cool and get respect for again, chasing a m3? nah, if i wanted to look like a fool and maybe impress some unknowing people i would've said i owned it.

LMAO...

my favorite quote from Phil..."okay! I'm definitely not racing you" after taking quick ride in my car.

the 09 370Z will have the ***** to take on the e46 M3. well, not sure if they're gonna call it 370Z, but it'll have the same V37 in the G37 coupe.

I like my one day experience with the 08 350Z btw. not S2k in handling, but definitely fun to drive. possibly more fun to drive than e46 M3 is how i feel.

well modding the engine out of either car will set you back some greenbacks. things such as headers can cost up to a $1000, if you can even find it.
