Seat Belt guide retrofit !! (2001-2002)
Wow, it was so long ago that I asked for the PN for the seat belt guide that comes on C Class 2003 and up (I believe).
Someone had posted, and I've tried to get that pn in the past with no success. The person posting had stated the parts cost $150 or so..
which seemed kinda expensive.
Well, turns out I found it on the Service DVD.
PN A203 860 49 85 and it's 25-30 bucks from Mercedes.
For anyone wondering what the heck I'm talking about,
2002 and before the seatbelts have a tendency to get lost in the back seat, and also tend to get caught in the doors and punch holes in the speaker grills.
In 2003, they added this piece to make it easier to get reach the belt, and hopefully keeps it away from my new grill (#4)
I thought I attached the file with the info...did the mods remove it?
None of my other files are removed, so I'll go ahead and attach it...

It's more expensive than that because, to do it properly, there are about 6 parts per side that you have to buy, in addition to just the guide.
It doesn't help with the retraction of the seatbelt at all, though. My passenger's side has neeed to be redone for a couple of years now. If and when I do my aftermarket stereo redo (have had my hu and 6-cd in-dash changer for about three years now ), I'll give serious consideration to doing some kind of stronger grill face.
Enjoy the install - it's a pita to do properly. Do one side at a time so that you'll be able to compare the twists of the seatbelt as it goes through the guide.

Well, I believe it was a coupe only thing, but I really can't say.
It was added in 2003, you can find some old threads where it's mentioned along with the sunroof "hump".
I bought one, and it came with all parts needed for $25 and took about 15 minutes to put in. I'll get a pic.
I only put one on the drivers side so far. I have a tendency to jump in the car, drive off and THEN dig around for the belt.
With this gadget, there's a good chance it'll be in reach instead of having to fumble for it, or pull over to find it.
Tough luck for the passenger. They can dig, they aren't driving!
BUSTED DOWN OLD SCHOOL- Note, how the seatbelt is outta the way, and a pain to get to.
NEW SCHOOL- Seatbelt is easily reached, but the device can fold down and out of the way if needed, and it puts the belt at a better angle to the shoulder so it doesn't dig in. FYI- 2003+ has this already, this info applies to 2002 coupe.

I don't imagine it'd do much for a sedan. The guides keep the belts in place when someone crawls between the front seat and the belt thingy when crawling into the back seat of a coupe.
For those with the factory guide installed, how do you punch through your speaker grill? So confused.
