C230 Coupe - trunk open?!?

About a week ago, my trunk wouldn't close for some reason. I pulled the plastic paneling off and the latch on the bottom was very loose.

Tightened up the screws, and the trunk closes fine now. When I put my car into drive, i still get the annoying TRUNK OPEN! alert!

I can't seem to find any sensor on the hatch.

Anyone have this issue before, or know how I can solve it?

Thanks.

Before doing anything else, push the green emergency release button. That's sometimes the reason for the car thinking it's open.

I tried the emergency button a few times, it just opens the trunk like normal.

When I go to lock my car with the remote, the trunk locks - but the rear lights don't flash like they used to. The car def. thinks the trunk is open.

It's been a few days now, and I drive a few hours per day.

I have that sometimes, I just slam it till the open sign goes anyway. I need to look into it though.

My car is still under warranty, but my local dealer is such a pain in the ***. Too far from where I work too - so I don't want to leave it there.

If anyone else has more ideas, please share!

I took a look on the service DVD.
It doesn't tell the location or function of the sensor, but it does say the correct gap between the hatch and the bumper is 6.5 mm +- 1.5mm
So maybe adjust the hatch, by loosening the bolts on the "locking eye"
on the bottom (not the hatch itself) so it closes a little tighter.
